The Bilancia

I never write reviews, but I feel genuinely compelled to write this one. I had a 60-minute massage, a facial, and an eyebrow tint + wax at Spa Bilancia, and it was one of the best spa experiences I’ve ever had. My massage (I believe with Felicia) was absolutely perfect — I’ve had over 65 massages in my life, and this one truly stood out. It was that rare balance between relaxing and effective. I woke up the next morning not sore, just refreshed and loose — exactly what I wanted leading up to my wedding. My facial and dermaplane with Emily was incredible — easily one of the best I’ve ever had. My skin feels hydrated, clear, and glowy this morning. She was so kind and professional, and the whole experience was extremely relaxing (even the extractions were gentle and thorough). Adriana did my eyebrow tint and wax, and she’s amazing! She’s bubbly, kind, and so meticulous — my brows look perfect. The spa itself is spotless and beautifully designed. The lighting, the calming scent, the entire atmosphere just feels luxurious and serene — something truly special to find in Iowa. I’ve visited many spas, even internationally, and this one is hands down my favorite. If you’re considering treating yourself or need to unwind before a big event — go here. You’ll leave feeling relaxed, glowing, and cared for.

Had my very first facial today with Emily, needless to say it was everything I hoped it would be and more! From the moment I stepped into the spa I was greeted and given a robe and sandals and shown where I could change and put my personal belongings. After changing into the robe and sandals I was taken to the relaxation room where I sat in a nice recliner with a heated blanket. The room was peaceful with minimal lighting to aid in relaxing. I was asked what beverage I would like, complimentary with my service, and brought a heated neck pillow. I arrived early to be able to enjoy all aspects of the services. As sooner as my appointment time arrived I was brought back to the room where I’d receive my facial. Before the service began Emily asked me about my skin concerns and any allergies I may have. She had me change into a wrap and lay on the table while she went and got the products she was going to use for my facial. The entire service was so peaceful and relaxing! I 100/10 will be coming back!

I've been having a great time here! 2nd time getting a massage with Jacob and he's been fantastic! Really easy to talk to and targets the perfect sore areas I have. The relaxation room is very serene as well and today I had a sangria, it was delicious. Highly recommend coming here to let your worries melt away and get some relaxation in!

I wanted to wait a little bit to write my review to see how things progressed after my visit! I absolutely loved my visit to Spa Bilancia. Everyone was very friendly and the environment was wonderful and relaxing. I got a wax and a facial from Adrianna and she worked efficiently and effectively. I felt really relaxed and highly recommended her for your services. I left feeling refreshed from my facial! It’s been a few weeks since I’ve been there and my wax has held up great! I can’t say enough good things about Spa Bilancia, I highly highly recommend!

I went to the new location for the first time back in march.. I booked a 120 minute hot stone massage. I was showed where to lock my things up and get changed into a robe. I was then very rudely shown where I was able/supposed to "relax". No hot towel, no assistance with how to use the chair, no drink offered, etc. I looked at the time I was taken back for my massage and the time I was done with my massage.. I was shorted 30 minutes and still charged for the full amount.

Alright so, I will preface this whole review by saying that I have never received a DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE... But I don't think I'll ever want to go anywhere else. Alex did an extraordinary job and left me feeling new.... New is a good word. I am a large human I stand at 6'6" and weight around 300lbs. I'm built like a lineman and Alex loosened me up like I never thought imaginable. After a few 'masssages' from my girlfriend, she suggested I go get a professional deep tissue massage. Since I carry most of my tension in my back and shoulders I didn't think anyone would be strong enough to get the knots out. I was wrong, Alex did just that. I opted in for the 45 minute Deep Tissue and I wish I woulda gotten an hour. I am from Chicago, Illinois and I am seriously contemplating driving back to the Iowa City / Coralville area once a month to work out the stress. The feeling is intense but it is also relieving, I think I have found my home at Spa Bilanica, and thank you Alex so much for helping me work year old knots! See you all soon.

I’ve been going to Spa Bilancia for over ten years and have always had a great experience. Today I had an issue with a service and was incredibly impressed with how the owners and manager Leah handled the situation. This is what sets a good spa apart from a great spa. I’ve been to spas around the world and the customer service I received today rivaled my experience at the Four Seasons. Will continue to be a loyal customer!
