Sauna House Durham

My husband and I have visited several times, and each experience has been wonderful. The staff is consistently warm, attentive, and welcoming. We love the spacious sauna rooms infused with the soothing aroma of essential oils, the invigorating challenge of the cold plunge, and the comfort of the heated benches that follow. Every visit leaves us feeling deeply relaxed, refreshed, and renewed in the clean, calming atmosphere.

General review below, but first and most important to note: I came in for some recovery after my postpartum medical clearance, and mentioned that it was my first time back in several months after pregnancy. When check-out time came, the staff team let me know that they had covered my session cost as a congratulations gift. Wow. I am still blown away by that and so grateful- I wish I could remember which staff member gave me that session, but I unfortunately was deep in the postpartum brain fog and cannot. SH, if you see this review, please let me know! I've been going to SH somewhat regularly since December 2024, and the experience continues to be just as high-quality with every visit. As others have noted, the layout, size, and decor of the interior are so thoughtfully executed for both practicality and a luxurious sense of peaceful comfort. Comparing to places that are warm pool/sauna hubs like Iceland, everything about the facilities truly is world-class. They are also well-maintained and kept sparkling clean, including the surfaces in the saunas. I'm always especially impressed at the immaculate water in both plunge pools, and I love their pre-session full shower policy. The staff and owners are exceptional, as demonstrated above- always kind, courteous and positive. Reading through these reviews, I can see that they have addressed and incorporated many suggestions and pieces of constructive criticism over time, and the place is even better for it! Brief final thought- the cost of a visit might appear a bit expensive on paper to some, but consider that this costs less than most pedicures and comes with substantially more true relaxation and health benefits, plus everything else I mentioned.

The Sauna House was nice I would go back the only reason for the 3 star is they have no sign I kept driving past it because a car was blocking the wording on the building 😒. Also the parking is very very very limited so you will most likely have to park and walk but other than that the service was great and the amenities they have there are good . Please get a better sign 🪧 even if it’s one for the side walk to make the location more identifiable .

Very nice facility. Clean well managed and relaxing. Love the "quiet" sauna (Like German / Austrian/ Finnish sauna which aren’t necessarily deathly quiet but certainly discourage loud conversations / laughter etc). The heated relaxing seats are a nice touch. Changing area and showers lovely. Suggest a sign somewhere to suggest alternate close by parking in the event it’s full. I’ll be back.

My first time visiting thus facility. I have never attempted a cold plunge before, but after reading several reports highlighting the positive health benefits of such an experience, I decided to give it a try. It was indeed a shock to walk into a pool set to 45 degrees F after seating in a hot sauna, but I made it through the suggested three minutes. I felt incredible after the experience and will do this again. The facility is extremely clean and appears to be well managed. The staff are very courteous and informative. Highly recommend!

I can only assume this is a top-down corporate culture of kindness and professionalism. Literally every single experience I’ve had with staff has made me want to beg them for a job. Oh, and the facilities are top notch of course. I like the new thing with the smaller sauna being silent and dry. Maybe that was feedback-driven? It wouldn’t have occurred to me to ask but it’s perfect.

Sauna House Durham was a lovely experience. The employees were very nice and welcoming. It was my first visit to a sauna house, which was full of calming vibes. The sauna was relaxing and warm. The cold pool was energizing and challenging. It was a great social experience with some of my friends.
