Tropic Shores Resort

We've been owners since the it's. They keep the property up, great staff, we had some plumbing issues. Brought it to their attention & was addressed swiftly. Overall, we always have a great time. Love the ocean front views, pool & hot tub!

We booked this exchange week to utilize points we had left over in our account, so it was use them or lose them. We opted for a local to us resort for convenience and limited drive time. We arrived early due to a prior commitment to attend a retirement party two hours away from the resort, so we could check in and then depart to attend the party. We were accommodated with an early check in of about 1-1/2 hours which met our needs. Our 1-bedroom/bath unit was on the smaller side of recent resort stays, but all units are ocean facing with a balcony. The unit was comfortable and suitable for a couple. It was clean, comfortable, and convenient to dining and shopping. Daytona Beach Shores is south of Daytona Beach by a few miles, which is a bit quieter and less hectic than the area around the Convention Center, which some like us prefer. The resort features a pool, hot tub, exercise room, elevator access, as well as being directly on the beach. Parking was adequate, although it being Bike Week, we did have to park in the expansion lot across the street since all resort parking spaces were filled on the first night of our stay. I would probably rate this a 3.8 on a 5-point scale, ideal for a couple, albeit the unit itself is on the smaller side of other resorts we have stayed at but offering all that is needed for a week at the beach.

This resort is right on the beach. Perfect location and great amenities. There is a wonderful pool and hot tub area with lots of seating. Resort offers chairs and umbrellas for use with a low weekly fee. Well worth the nominal cost. There are a variety of activities offered throughout the week.

This is an outstanding resort right on the beach. All units are oceanfront with a balcony. The resort is older, but very well maintained and what really stood out is the staff. From the front desk (Eileen-the best) to housekeeping, all of them are helpful, professional and happy. Every morning during sunrise you can watch the staff cleaning the pool & spa area to include the steps to the ocean. Pickleball courts are public and busy. The people playing were all very good and welcoming. There is a 3 par golf course are right next to the pickleball courts along with public clay tennis courts. All of this is walking distance (less than 1/4 mile from the resort. Publix is close to the courts also. The little Italian restaurant across the street, Porto Fino was excellent and served amazing lasagne and enough for 3 meals for the price of one. The server gave us warm, fresh bread to take back to the resort. The resort is very well managed.

This was our first stay at this resort, and we were very happy with every aspect. It's in a great location, every unit has a balcony that faces the beach, the unit was a perfect size for the two of us, was very clean and well maintained, and it didn't feel dated at all. Everything was very comfortable.

This resort is awesome. Staff is very friendly and efficient. Suite is perfect. Uses space efficiently. Cute use of drawers, little wine bar, etc. We all have a balcony w/ beach view. I will be back. Thanks you

We have owned here for almost 30 years (which truly means nothing). Waited about an hour and 20 minutes for our condo with at least two families who arrived after us receiving theirs before us. We have never had to wait this long. There was only one operating elevator the entire week making for lengthy waits. If we had a room on a lower floor it would have been much quicker to walk but 8 flights in heat indexes of 115 was more than what we could do. Our clock didn’t work and the patio automatic door had to be manually pulled apart to use. This was quite a challenge with full arms. We were given an auger to support our beach umbrella instead of having a hole drilled. We created our own hole manually. There have been flooring improvements made which I would have gladly done without to get a room in a timely manner and have an operable elevator. We will look to sell this unit as it did not feel welcoming for the first time in almost 3 decades. I would not recommend this property at this time unless adequate staffing can be hired.
