We booked a 4:00 PM couple’s massage and arrived at 4:05 PM and waited about 20–25 minutes because other couples were already in the waiting area. The massage started around 4:30 PM and ended at 5:15 PM, even though we paid for a 60-minute session. When I asked if it was 45 or 60 minutes, the front desk response ("yeah") didn’t clarify anything. There was no one waiting after us, so the shortened time was disappointing. They also charge credit card fees separately — for the reservation, the balance before the massage, and again for the tip. In total, we paid about $223 (including a $40 tip). Overall, the massage was okay, but we’d likely choose other River North spots that provide the full 60 minutes booked.
I’ve been here six times mostly for scalp treatment and also for body massage. I will list my honest pros and cons: Pros: - The Chinese ladies are all generally skilled, whoever I get treatment from. Their pressure is good and massage feels relaxing. I’ve been to many five star hotel spas, and the pressure there is usually underwhelming. - It’s affordable and pretty quiet and relaxing. - The massage beds are heated (very warm), so I didn’t feel cold unlike many other places that barely turn on any heat. - Easy to reserve on the same day Overall, great quality for the price. Cons: This is where the stars go down to three-three and a half. - There is a credit card processing fee, and you pay it twice because they usually ask you to pay for the service before the treatment, and tip after the treatment. So you end up paying several more dollars. But this isn’t a dealbreaker because the service is already cheaper than other places. - Hard to communicate in English. A lot of them are not fluent in English. This also isn’t a huge dealbreaker but can be inconvenient at times. - Now this is my biggest strike. Some lady asked me to pay the tip upfront. I was like okay why not because then I don’t need to pay separate card processing fee at the end again. The thing is they always ask you how much you want to tip instead of letting you press the button like other places do. And when they ask you, there are always people standing at the desk looking at you, including the person who gave you the service. This is quite pressuring. When I mentioned the amount of 15%, the lady said that’s not 20%. Yes I’m aware, and it’s my choice, especially since I was asked before getting the treatment. I find it extremely rude that she was pushing for higher tip. She also pushed me to get more expensive, longer services before. This kind of service just makes the whole healing experience uncomfortable and untherapeutic. - While their massage is good, their massage beds aren’t the most comfortable. They’re actually quite uncomfortable. They’re a little hard, and there’s no separation between the neck and the rest of the body. That means when they massage your upper body, you constantly get your neck choked and pushed down to the bed. I don’t think this is the therapist’s fault, but more about the design of the bed. The hole where you rest your face is also hard and tiny. So if you lay down for a while, your face starts to hurt a lot. And this is coming from someone who already has a small face. Upgrading the massage beds will enhance the experience so much and make me potentially want to return. But for now, I think I might stick to occasional scalp treatments. *Another thing: They had told me before that if I come in five times, I can get one for free. But when I asked last time (which was my fourth time), they said you need to buy the whole package from the beginning and pay everything upfront. They didn’t say this in the beginning. I don’t like how they keep switching back-and-forth and just keep demanding for more money. This service aspect is the final breaking point.
The best head spa and massage in Chicago! My skin and hair felt so much better when i walked out. They massaged my head and face. So much better than therapy! Came back to get a neck and shoulder massage. They are better than the chiropractor i’ve been going to. They got rid of my pain after 30 deep tissue massage! Easy to make appointment Highly recommended
I have been going to DQ Luxury for maybe 7 or 8 years. Every time I leave, I am so happy and wish I could go more frequently. I absolutely love their massages, and I suspect they have some of the best prices in the city. I had no idea, going into my first massage, that it was going to be different from a 'typical' massage. But the 90 minute combo massage (what I get) is unbelievable. They spend 30 minutes on just your feet. And then you walk on them and it is magical and you wonder why you never did this before. My back always feels so amazing after, too. They are relentless on the knots in my back! I cannot recommend them enough!!
I’ve had many massages before, but none were as satisfying as this one. They really focused on the right pressure points and muscles, and I loved that they used their hands instead of machines — no gimmicks, just real skill. Absolutely loved it and highly recommend!
I loved my experience at DQ Luxury spa! SO relaxing, so clean, so professional. I felt extremely pampered and well taken care of. My scalp treatment was wonderful and the result speak for themselves! My hair is soft and my scalp is super clean!
My wife and I came for a couples massage and let me tell you this was the best experience ever! Both ladies were very professional and friendly. I would HIGHLY recommend for anyone and couples to try it!
