All the stars to this gem! Will comeback for sure This spa is big and comfortable, with very reasonable prices for services and special passes. The breakfast pass was an absolute steal. I don’t know what I was expecting but it was beyond that. Showed up at opening time so we will have enough time to enjoy the amenities before it gets crowded and to be honest even tho it did get crowded it didn’t feel like that, even tho it was on a Sunday. The pools are clean and at the perfect temperature to relax. The diversity of the sauna rooms was outstanding. I particularly gravitated more towards the dry banya, specially the aroma and clay ones. Took the best nap in the relaxation room. And got to experience the Venik event that happens every 1-2 hours. The snow room was the most pleasant surprise ever, the temperature felt perfect. If you want to go full Slavic don’t forget the cold plunge. The food was very diverse and super good, I was really surprised by the lobster soup. The drinks were amazing and fairly priced. Definitely a place where you can spend the whole day at!
The "House of Luck" (Villa Mabrouka), was once the sea side summer residence of Yves Saint Laurent in Tangier Morocco. It is majestic & immaculately beautiful, yet the Moroccan Hamam (steam room) at World Spa (1571 McDonald Ave Brooklyn NY) is far more pleasing than the Hammam at Villa Mabrouka. The filigree wall sconce at the entrance of the Moroccan Hammam is a fine example of Moroccan art. So, is the World Spa, a Moroccan Spa ? The answer is no, it is a World Spa. It has something from everywhere. It is a collection of the finest. World Spa also has (amongst other things) a better Turkish Hammam than you will find in Turkey. Everything at World Spa is just better. The build quality & stone/ tile work of both Hammams mentioned above are exceptional. The whole Spa is a superior work of a talented designer. Those who like Sojo Spa in Edgewater NJ, might like this better. Even the layout is better. Those who are fans of Russian / Ukrainian Sauna (Banya), will like the Banya at World Spa more. They have two, and both extremely clean(who knew Banya come in a clean version too 😊). The ice cold dip by the Banya is spacious and just better. This is the hands down the best Banya in the NY/NJ/CT area. Likewise the Clay/Hay Sauna. Ditto the Aroma room. Even the Snow Room in the dead of winter is alluring. There is so much more. The dining at the Spa is very good and so well organized. But the best thing at the World Spa (something that is rare), is the Event Sauna room. I attended two group events (included in the entrance fee). Aufguss (rooted in European Spa traditions) and Herbal Steam Ritual. As it is the facility at World Spa is magnificent, but the events take it to another level. World Spa is a spa that a wonderful city like NY deserves. It is far from where I live, but they have an attached parking garage (paid parking). Long drive but worth it. Sorry could not add photos because they don’t allow cameras inside.
The spa is perfect for a winter escape. I relaxed in the salt room, warmed up in the saunas, sweat in the Turkish room and then end the day in the snow room. I can't handle the cold plunge. There was plenty of healthy and hearty food options. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was my niece's first time at a spa and she loved the warm pool. Bring your water bottle. It's necessary after coming out of the sauna. Even though one floor is open to all it still felt spacious but it was a Tuesday.
I’ve visited before and had a great experience, which is why I chose to come back to celebrate my mom’s birthday with a group of six. Unfortunately, this visit was completely disappointing. The service was extremely unprofessional. Everyone at the table received their food except me. I waited an additional 40 minutes while being told they were "backed up," yet my sister ordered the exact same dish and received hers long before I did. When I asked about it, the response was basically "that’s just how it is," which is not acceptable. For a birthday celebration, this was embarrassing and frustrating. The lack of accountability and the attitude from the staff made it worse. I will not be returning or recommending this place based on how we were treated today.
Unfortunately, we were disappointed. The relaxation area is not thoughtfully designed for guests without VIP access — there is simply nowhere comfortable to rest. The saunas themselves are not bad: clean and generally well maintained. However, the service ruins the overall impression — the dishes used to serve food were dirty, and the glasses were cracked, which is unacceptable for a spa environment. In the end, our expectations were not met. I do not recommend this place.
Really nice experience, very relaxing and honestly worth the price if you go for the whole day. There are so many room options for the day pass. Didn’t get a treatment since I went last minute but I will definitely be back! Note: the slippers are not included in the day pass price ($20-$30 depending on the type you choose) so either go barefoot or bring your own slides!
I had a fantastic experience at World Spa today - easily one of the most enjoyable and relaxing days of my life! I’ve been wanting to treat myself to a spa day for a while and was debating between a few other spas, but ultimately ended up here and cannot be happier with my choice. Immediately upon entering you are met with a calming atmosphere that makes you feel like you are anywhere but NYC. Check in was smooth - just be sure to bring your ID and the card you used to book. Then, you will receive a wristband that lets you in, opens your locker, and allows you to order food at the restaurant. I changed and explored for a bit before heading down to the treatment room for my massage - it was helpful that they had wall clocks all over the place to check in on the time. The massage by Dara or Dana (sorry, I forget) was incredible and I felt extremely comfortable with her! After my massage I wandered around the rooms, enjoying the relaxation that came from alternating between the warm and cold rooms/pools. I was worried I might feel insecure around everyone in my bathing suit, but I truly felt so comfortable around all of the other guests and staff. You also get a comfy robe in your locker to use if you want to cover up a bit more. Lunch was incredible - the poke bowl and virgin mojito were on point and the service was SO kind at the restaurant. I also enjoyed the different sauna ceremonies and the complimentary shampoo/conditioner/body wash in the bathroom showers to round out my trip and clean the massage oil off. Overall this place is an incredible establishment - it was clean, safe, and most of all relaxing!!! I went alone and left feeling rejuvenated. I went on a Wednesday morning/afternoon so I did not feel like it was too crowded at all. I was able to enjoy some rooms on my own, but even when others joined they were mostly quiet and respectful of the peaceful environment!
