Perfection. Fell in love with sentos / onsens while visiting Japan 🇯🇵 but hard to find something similar in NYC. This is perfect. Quiet too. 🥶🤐

Beautiful and simple space. There are two saunas and a cold plunge that can fit 3 people. I love the membership model, because every time we’ve gone, it has been nice and quiet! Hot tea, towels, slippers, water, and plastic bags for wet swimwear are all provided. There are no locker rooms! There are individual bathrooms, enclosed shower rooms, and changing rooms with a communal hallway filled with lockers. It’s all clean! But I have to say the biggest highlight of Akari are the employees. They have been so kind and understanding and it’s clear they want you to have a good experience with the brand. I want to try the Williamsburg location soon and I hope they open more in the future!

We went here the second day of opening. Def a hidden gem for spa lovers who seek tranquillity. Not a big place but it has everything, change rooms, showers, two dry sauna rooms(very hot you will sweat in 10 mins) , one cold plunge(very cold!), and a small resting area. One thing I really appreciate is its members only and they have limited membership headcounts. It is def the key to limit customer flow to maintain the peaceful vibe and it can easily get busy and chaotic given it's a small place (only five chairs in the resting room). I hope this team can keep the good quality in the future!!!

As a sauna regular, this is one of the best in NYC. Beautiful minimalist design, perfect lighting, and calm energy. Heat hits right, cold plunge wakes you up. Akari feels like a real escape in the city.
