Steamworks Baths Berkeley

Everything is good about this place. Huge steam room very hot, big hot jacuzzi, powerful jets, free parking, even the showers are appropriately lit not too bright or dark. Single story so no stairs to climb. Love this gym because it's more modern than other bath gyms i been too!

Its nice to go to à place and feel comfortable enjoying others,getting into a hottub and meeting new friends. Lots of rooms and lockers available. Staff has been wonderful this year. I enjoy this place more than other bathhouses i have visited. Nice dark play room.

2/21/26- Bear Night 5⭐ Lots of hairy men and some admirers. Bears, cubs, muscle bears, and daddy bears. Since its a Bear theme, there isn't much of that, "Your not my type" attitude from others. So it is a lot of fun if you are part of the bear community. Most of the action is in the back of the club. 5⭐ Facility is always clean and you can see employees cleaning and checking areas that might need to be cleaned. Showers, steamroom, several bathrooms, and large hot tub/spa. Several sizes of private rooms and plenty of lockers. Condoms provided for free, but you now have to bring your own lube. There is a vending machine with lube, head cleaner, steamwork labeled jocks, rings, and hose for douching. 3⭐ Several vending machines with drinks, snacks, and sandwiches. Unfortunately on this night, the front drink machine was nearly empty. 1⭐ On bear nights, it's listed that there would be food. I only saw 2 boxes of pizza and a 1 drink dispenser. Both were gone/empty after about an hour. 5⭐ Location can be reached buy public transportation. BART and AC Transit and a short walk from and to the bus stop. 3⭐ Parking lot has limited spaces otherwise its street parking. Street parking can be difficult due to several bars, restaurants, other business, andresidential buildings. 3⭐ Checking in is easy. But depending on event, time of day, and day of the week there can be lines out the door.

I'm 41yo and just went here; my 1st bathouse (ever), a couple weeks ago. My friend/buddy/lover took me. We got all private room and enjoyed ourselves. A romantic in a bathouse?! It wasn't my style I really, but I can't say it's my once & only try. Under different circumstances, I may try again! 😈

I was looking forward to coming here but it was a disappointing experience. The guy who checked me in wasn’t very helpful and the other clientele there were rude and stuck up. Im older and heavier and while there I was the target of rude comments about my body. Nobody is perfect. I feel sorry for the people who made such comments for it’s a glaring sign of their insecurity. Enjoy your freedom to express your gay American selves. In some parts of the world this is a dream, and in those parts of the world one is simply told no thanks if theres no attraction. I hadn’t even opened my moth or had a chance to ogle.

Steamworks Baths in Berkeley was a disappointing experience. The wait was excessive, with a 50-minute line to get in during Folsom. While there are many rooms but a very small place to play and crowed, the overall space felt cramped, making it difficult to enjoy the atmosphere. I expected more.

Dear [Steamworks Team], I’m writing to share my experience at your establishment on July 1st, between 2:00 PM and 5:45 PM. Unfortunately, I encountered a situation that left me feeling disrespected. As I was leaving, I was approached by a short, Latino employee with glasses who asked for my last name. After I provided it, he laughed, made a comment, and then repeated my full name aloud in a manner I found inappropriate and unprofessional. I believe that maintaining customer privacy and showing respect are essential in any service setting, and this behavior was neither respectful nor appropriate. While I chose not to address the situation at the time to avoid disrupting other customers, I feel strongly that employees should be trained to handle customer interactions with more discretion and professionalism. I hope this feedback is taken into consideration so that future customers do not experience similar discomfort. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
