This restaurant was better than I expected it to be! The food is pretty americanised but it is tasty. We came here on a Wed afternoon and it was packed! There is lots of parking in the area. They also have patio seating but I'm glad we sat inside because it was super hot outside during the afternoon. They have lunch specials which are total worth the price. We got the chicken egg foo young with egg drop soup lunch special and the schezwan string bean with pork and hot and sour soup lunch special. Every lunch special comes with fried rice, an egg roll and a crab puff. The egg rolls were very good. The crab puff was ok, we would have liked more crab stuffing. The soups were excellent. You won't go wrong with either choice. The fried rice was average. I have had better fried rice in other Chinese restaurants. The entrees themselves were very good. The chicken egg foo young is a Chinese omelet presented as a cutlet of chicken and egg, bean sprouts, slightly breaded and smothered in brown gravy sauce. The portion was big and I couldn't even finish one of the cutlets, so we took most of my entree home. The schezwan string bean and pork entree was delicious. Husband finished every last bit of it. For the price of around $12 per special, we were satisfied and delighted by the meal. The ambiance is pretty casual but the restaurant is nice. We definitely recommend checking them out if you are in the area.
Staff was very friendly and helpful 5/5 there. Food was good. I had the Orange Peel Chicken, Taiwanese Beef, and the Szechuan Fried Rice. Everything I had was good. I enjoyed the Orange Chicken the most. Coming from LA, I found the prices very affordable. This is a good spot with a friendly vibe.
My wife and I popped into Big Buddha for a Sunday lunch and left seriously impressed — this place delivers! The lunch specials are a total win: big portions, great value, and food that actually tastes freshly made (not just reheated takeout vibes 👏). We started with their sweet-and-sour soup, which was the perfect warm-up — tangy, a little spicy, and so comforting that I kind of wished it came in a bigger bowl. For mains, I went with the Mongolian Beef, and wow — tender beef, a rich sweet-savory sauce, and a bed of crispy noodles that added the perfect crunch. My wife ordered the Shrimp with Vegetables, and her plate was loaded with plump shrimp and colorful veggies swimming in a garlicky brown sauce that was seriously delicious. Each lunch combo came with rice and an egg roll — simple, classic, and just right. The service was quick and friendly, and the whole vibe was relaxed — a great little spot for an easy, satisfying meal. Pro tip: Go for the lunch specials — you’ll get a full spread without breaking the bank, and trust me, you won’t leave hungry!
This is our go-to to-go Chinese restaurant here in the West Valley, hands down. We have been going to this place since 2018 and it has never disappointed! We have yet to sit down for a meal, but they generally have your food ready within 15-20 minutes when placing your food order over the phone. I highly recommend calling them directly over using the online ordering as it features higher price on the website (Third party upcharge). Our favorite meal is the House Fried Rice which features Pork, Beef, Chicken and always at least two jumbo shrimps, you can't go wrong with it. Our kids (and myself too!) love the orange chicken as well which has such a tangy and delicious sauce which I drizzle over white rice! They are generous with their soy sauce and always have a crazy spicy mustard upon request!
Really good and priced right. My dad and my MIL's favorite place. They do have gluten free( in sharpe) options I was super pleased. We had 0 leftovers
It was our first time at Big Buddha and everything everyone says good about it is true! Very very good food and friendly staff. I had the sesame chicken and my husband had the Mongolian Beef. Both were very good! We will be back!
Looking to try this restaurant tonight. I ordered water to drink, the egg roll appetizer, and the sweet & sour shrimp. Service was prompt. The egg rolls came (2 to an order for $4.50). They were okay. Not very hot and fresh, but very crunchy. A bit small in size too. I liked the sauce they had brought with the egg rolls. A small bowl of sweet & sour sauce with a good dollop of hot mustard. The two sauces had a nice flavor. The sweet & sour shrimp came. A nice portion of shrimp with small diced pieces of onions, carrots, green peppers, and pineapple. I like the attempt to add more to this dish than another restaurant I had recently visited that didn’t add any vegetables. This dish should be simple. The onions don’t belong in it. If they care to try, my suggestion would be adding nice chunks of tomato, larger pieces of green peppers - maybe use red, yellow, or orange peppers, and larger chunks of pineapple. The one thing I can’t understand with many Chinese restaurants in Phoenix is the fascination with this neon red sweet (no sour) sauce. I miss the great restaurants from back home, and in Chicago’s Chinatown. The entree was $16.50. My check after tax came to $23.00. I’ll return to try other items on their menu. The restaurant is warm, and inviting. Seating to accommodate all size parties; and a patio area too. Before leaving I used the men’s room that is very clean. Parking is no issue being located on the east side of a mall. If you’re looking for Chinese food, do consider Big Buddha and give them a try.
