Korean Smile Food Market

My mother has been going to Smile's (or Smiley's as we like to refer to it) as long as I can remember. I used to like buying their in house made kimchi because it was fresh (I'm not one to like sour kimchi) but it seems lately that they've started to be more on the fermented (sour) side unfortunately. I prefer here over kp market as im looking for korean specifically, but if the kimchi isn't fresh, there's really no point in going her over KP imo.

Smiley Food Market on Bradshaw is a small Korean grocery store—much smaller than KP in Rancho. It mainly focuses on Korean food, not international items. Their packaged goods are decent, and they sell fresh-made rice cakes, which are good. However, the fresh vegetables aren’t organic and usually don’t look very fresh, so I wouldn’t recommend buying produce here. There’s also a Korean restaurant and a small houseware store right next to the market, all owned by the same owner. They’ve been around for a long time, and there’s plenty of parking, which is convenient. Overall, it’s a good spot if you’re looking for specific Korean items, but not the best for fresh groceries.

First time here over the weekend and I like it. Small but it’s got a lot of stuff in there. My wife comes every once in a while to pick stuff up and I was impressed with the variety of products available to purchase. Aisles are a little narrow to navigate through. Prices seem within reason of other Asian markets. Will come back here again when I’m in the area.

Talk about big things come in small packages. This place crams in as much as they can! They have tons of Asian foods and novelties here. Aisles are a bit narrow for my liking so be ready to head down with the flow of traffic. Prices are always competitive compared to Hmart and Koreana plaza. They have a great selection of kimchi and Korean snacks. Parking is wide open with plenty of space.

Agree with other reviews that produce doesn’t look fresh. Over stock of products stacked too tightly appears messy and I also found black mold on a kimchi container by just picking it up by the lid. I immediate washed my hands and felt sorry for the employees who have to use the bathroom there in such deplorable condition. I wasn’t greeted when I walked in, vibe was nothing special.

A great store :)! I thought it would be a small store, but to me, it's got lots and lots inside. I would say the prices are great! I had to stop myself from buying so much, but I will be going back to purchase more items soon. The cashiers were also very kind 😇. I recommend!

We have been visiting the place few times. Good selection of things but be careful what you buy. We bought mochies and after coming home and tasting them we realized it was supposed to be stored in a freezer and was supposed to be ice cream. Mochies were stored in room temperature in the store.
