Kindred Seoul

Not a typical food establishment set up - it’s on the ground floor of a (new, bright, modern) government/office building and as such its open times are more focused on the work week. I work nearby so love having this as a convenient lunch option. Food has always been tasty. My go-to is the Veggie Bop - their tofu is so good, and a favorite of coworkers.

Kindred Seoul 1215 O St., Sacramento Number of violations: 7 Date: Tuesday, Jan. 20 Health inspectors cited the downtown Korean restaurant after finding raw beef patties and cooked noodles above proper holding temperatures. The facility’s hand sink on the serving line lacked paper towels. The employee restroom lacked toilet paper. The facility lacked an employee with a California manager’s food safety certification. An employee beverage was seen without a lid inside the walk-in cooler. Raw chicken was stored over cabbage in the walk-in cooler. The facility’s piping under the three compartment sink was dripping. Kindred Seoul was reinspected on Wednesday, Jan. 21 and received an additional yellow placard. No toilet paper in the employees restroom? They dont wipe!

Nice bright place for lunch. I had the Veggie Bop and the tofu was cooked to perfection. My only critique would be that I wish there were a few more veggies in it, but the flavor was 10/10. Plenty of comfortable seating available and a lot of space to do a little work if you are so inclined, this will probably be my new lunch spot.

Really enjoyed my meal here! The menu mixes Korean flavors with fun twists and everything we tried was tasty and well-prepared.

We chose this spot due to its proximity to the California Museum. The space feels like a cafeteria, as it's essentially the entrance/lobby to a state office building. The design of the space is nice and comfortable. We enjoyed looking outside at the sculptures and neighborhood through the large windows as we waited for our food. That was the best part of our experience. They don't have menus available, just a few taped to walls/counter, so it was difficult to figure out what to order. The service was odd, three people standing behind the counter but not a lot of help or service happening - I had to go back and ask for the drink I ordered and carried my own food from the counter - no trays to help with that. The food was okay. Not bad, but I expected something more freshly prepared given the amount of time we waited. It seemed like pre-cooked ingredients assembled while we waited. Later on I had to look around and reach behind the counter for an extra napkin - no staff in site. Certainly wouldn't return or recommend, but a reasonable place to eat if you happen to be in the neighborhood. Meh.

I stopped in here for an early lunch. I see they offer a breakfast burrito for $10. I get charged $14 at the register. I ask why I’m being charged that when it’s advertised as $10. The server tell me the menu is just wrong 🤷‍♀️ It wasn’t just this item, apparently the whole thing is wrong. I don’t get how it’s legal to promote a certain price and then charge 40% more. Also, the burrito was not good on top of it.
