I am obsessed with this place. Get the spicy miso with the miso sauce + @tinashotchili 🧄🌶🪔 and watch your shabu experience ascend to a different dimension. Like… you will NOT be the same person when you leave. This spot NEVER misses. Perfect for family, friends, situationships, or anybody you need to impress with good food and boiling vibes. The atmosphere is a whole mood, and the old school R&B?? HELLO?? I felt like I time-traveled back to when we were actually living to live and not posting every bite on the internet. 10/10. Heals trauma. Fixes attitude. Clears skin. Shabu for the soul.

They accommodated us very well. Needed to push back my reservation, and it was no problem. We had to sit outside and we had no problems with service. All the meat was of good quality. The spicy broth was not that spicy... But other wise me and my party of 6 had an awesome time. 10/10 will be back.

I don't usually leave reviews, so I really hesitated to leave this one. I used to LOVE their location in Fair Oaks, not sure what happened to that. We came as a group of 5 from Reno, NV, literally a day trip just for this hotpot because I told my friends it was the absolute best I'd ever had. I had never been to their downtown location before, but I felt confident. We made reservations, we were seated and given waters right away. It was everyone else's first time at Heat Shabu, and even having hotpot at all. They did feel a little rushed to place orders right away, and the server seemed a bit annoyed that we were asking questions about how it worked and the menu, but he was not rude. The good: *The broths were hot and super flavorful. We had the spicy miso, tom yum, and tonkotsu. *The meat was great quality and delicious. *The food was brought out quickly, and they kept track of our orders very well. *The veggies and noodles were fresh, crisp, and went great with everything. *When one of us asked for a small side of the regular miso they were very nice and brought us a bowl. *Our servers checked on us frequently and kept everything stocked up and full, including drinks. The not so good: *Though our servers were never rude, they were at times short, rushing us, or seemed annoyed. I understand it was a busy night, it just didn't make for the best experience. *Toward the end of our meal we did feel VERY rushed to get out. Again, understand it's a busy night and they need the space, we were almost ready to leave, just wanted to finish our food. *I ordered a side of udon noodles. They made sure i knew they weren't included in AYCE, I said I understood. By the time they came out (not too long) I was pretty full and we were ready to leave. I asked if I could take my udon home, since I had paid for it separately. They said yes. Here's where I had some issue. They said they'd package them for me, took the pot with the noodles in it, then brought me out a small container with the noodles only. They technically did nothing wrong, I got the noodles I paid for, it just seemed quite petty if I'm being honest. At the Fair Oaks location, I had always had excellent service. They always offered to let us take our broth and any small stuff leftover (if we had any, usually not) home. This time, they did not even give me the broth that the noodles were in. Again, technically nothing wrong, just super petty and a bit of a slap in the face. I do hope they did not think we were trying to game the system, that was absolutely not the case. I used to reccomend Heat Shabu to absolutely anyone who would listen. I've told multiple people that it's worth making the 2 hour trip from Reno JUST for this hotpot. I still think the food is great, our service wasn't the worst, I just feel I'll have to make a small caveat if I ever reccomend it in the future, and that's if. I'm honestly more sad than angry or anything. I feel like I've lost a favorite :/. If anyone read this far, thank you! I hope your experience at Heat Shabu is much better than ours was. Cheers!

Fantastic Japanese hotpot. Everything was fresh and flavorful—especially the beef, which was incredibly tender and delicious. Our server, Mike, was super friendly and attentive, making sure we were well taken care of the entire time. Great food, great service. Highly recommend!

I went here on a cold Friday evening for dinner. Reservation is recommended. It's a very popular place. I wasn't able to get a seat inside so I settled outdoors with heat . The staff were polite and helpful but the service was somewhat slow. The restroom could use some updates. I ordered seafood shobu, and salt n pepper tofu appetizer. The tom yum seafood was good, but not great. The appetizer came after the main course, after I asked the waitress - and was free.

This place is an absolute GEM, the ALL YOU CAN EAT IS MARVELOUS. You can even include beer with this option…..the food comes out very fast. It all appears to be super fresh. The service is incredible. This was our first time coming here. We were outside with light rain but the patio heaters made it quite perfect. If you are near Downtown Sac look this place up…….

In my opinion the best Hot Pot option in the Sacramento area. The All You Can Eat is for sure worth it for $40, as it includes American Kobe Beef which is great! There is also a Wagyu included option for around $90 I believe which is good considering how expensive wagyu is. Many of their appetizers are also a nice accompaniment to the hotpot. Most notably, they have a delicious Kobe Beef Sashimi. I also like the Albacore Sashimi and Grilled Mussels. Their sashimi isn't comparable to high end Japanese restaurants but they are a nice change of pace from hotpot meat. It's worth it to go on Tuesdays for their appetizers. The speed of getting the meats out is pretty impressive, and same for the appetizers. I recommend the BBH and Tonkotsu broths. I only wish they had a more flavorful Sichuan style broth. All their current broth options I think need a dipping sauce to really round out the flavor, which I don't think would be necessarily true with a very flavorful Sichuan broth.
