Weekday afternoon visit: the line started forming around 4 PM, and we waited ~3 hours to get in. Tip: if you’re a party of two and okay with bar seating, tell the host in person so they know. Service was solid. For the price point, I’d recommend the medium tier or gold tier to get premium cuts—the basic tier isn’t worth a 3-hour wait. They also sell memberships. They’re a sister spot to Mikiya (San Mateo), but memberships don’t carry over—you’ll need to buy separately. Food was great. Ventilation isn’t ideal and it can get pretty smoky inside. There’s a 90-minute eating limit and a 70-minute ordering limit (not disclosed), plus ~5 minutes between rounds—pace your orders. Only complaint: the phone routes to an AI system. It’s hard to reach a real person, and I didn’t see staff picking up calls. Verdict: worth a try on a weekday afternoon/lunch; for a 3-hour wait, think it through.

The food is top tier. The service is quick and our server Viet is extremely helpful! He accommodated all our desired requests. The vibe of the whole restaurant seems as if you're in Japan! Everything was excellent and the selected meats were exquisite! All the A5 Wagyu selections were so fresh. We are very satisfied and Viet also convinced us to get a membership! We will be returning diners.

An Amazing Experience! 🌟🥩 We recently had a truly fantastic dinner at Chubby Cattle! The food was excellent, and what really made the night stand out was the incredible service we received, particularly from our waiter, Patrick. Exceptional Service from Patrick Patrick was absolutely wonderful. He was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond when we hit a small snag: * Quick Thinking: One of our grills unfortunately stopped working during our meal. Patrick immediately noticed and, understanding that we now had only one grill for our group, he was incredibly generous and extended our time for the meal so we wouldn't feel rushed. This was a lifesaver! * Wagyu : He even took the time to personally help us cook the delicate Wagyu cuts, ensuring they were prepared perfectly. His knowledge and willingness to step in and assist with the cooking truly elevated the whole experience. Food Highlights The quality of the meat was top-notch, especially the Wagyu. Everything was fresh and delicious—definitely living up to the restaurant's reputation. Overall: Chubby Cattle is a must-visit, not just for the great food, but for the outstanding customer service. Thanks again to Patrick for making our dining experience so memorable!

First time at Chubby Cattle! We got the Diamond Tier. My favorite was the A5 Wagyu Foie Gras Nigiri. The Wagyu was soooo soft , so tender and just completely melted in my mouth. I love their salmon carpaccio, the salmon was so thiccc. They also have a self serve area that has fruits, desserts, drinks, soups, and appetizers. I loved their Jasmine Milk Tea, it was not sweet which was perfect.

Had a wonderful birthday dinner at Chubby Cattle. Joined the online waitlist early and the table was ready by the time we arrived. Our server Josh was the best, extremely helpful explaining all the tiers and recommending solid options. The diamond tier was worth the price and special dishes were great. Already looking forward to our next meal there. ツ

Came to Chubby Cattle in Pleasanton tonight and WOW--what an incredible first experience. Shoutout to Patrick, because his service absolutely MADE the night. Friendly, welcoming, insanely attentive, and on top of everything without ever feeling overbearing. He answered all of our questions, was super quick, and somehow always appeared right when we needed something. Truly unmatched service. The food was great and the menu can feel a little overwhelming at first, but once you get the hang of the ordering and all the options, you fully enter flow state and it becomes so fun. That said--aside from the food--I would genuinely come back just to be served by Patrick again. That's how good he was. He turned a great meal into an unforgettable experience.

Rachel was our server and she was amazing. This was not our first experience with Korean Barbecue, but it was a really Great experience. Rachel helped us cook our food while we ate. I could see her tending to the other tables as well. She was really attentive and able to take care of all of her customers without neglecting anyone. If we lived closer we would get a membership, but we live too far away. The food was all delicious and I know a lot of people would be commenting on the meat, but since that’s a given, the yellowtail carpaccio, kimchi, and miso soup are among our favorites. If we are in the area again we will definitely be coming back.
