KC Craft Ramen

Always a phenomenal experience! Lunch is a little different than dinner service but very easy to navigate. Great selection and the staff all greet you in Japanese. They have very cool little kitschy things scattered around the whole restaurant that ypu can purchase. They have enough of a variety that pretty much anyone can find something. Also, you have to try the calamari, its sooooo good! And they don't balk at modifications which is amazing! We come here often and will absolutely continue to do so!

i don't write reviews like this because i also work in the food industry and have been a waitress for 8 years. i also frequent this place for lunch and dinner on the occasion, so i know the protocol when eating there decently well. there wasn't a line today for lunch so i didn't put my name on the list, i just walked up to the stand. they tried taking my order as soon as i said hello, and of course i was confused because i was here less than a week ago for lunch at open and had normal service at the table. they told me "we do things differently at lunch time," but i've never had service like this here before. they said it was okay that i didn't know what i wanted to eat yet, so they gave me a table number and a menu and let me choose a seat and said someone will be right with me to take my order. nobody came to me after about 10 minutes, mind you i was STARVING and so polite about everything. also, i was sitting directly next to where they package togo orders. i had been making eye contact and smiling at everyone definitely indicating that i needed help. finally the person that had greeted me, Kai, had taken my order. they were extremely nice and accommodating. i had tipped 20% because of him, however the remainder of my experience was unpleasant. when i received my food, it was in plastic ware and a plastic bowl. i definitely got less food than normal because i'm not usually able to finish it, and was still hungry after. the server had dropped it at my table without giving me utensils. when i asked them for some they told me if i needed anything else then to go get it myself. the lady next to me had asked for a water and they just pointed at the water dispenser instead of grabbing it for her. nothing was explained to me, everyone around me and myself were extremely confused. i shouldn't have tipped because i was essentially eating takeout with no service and was just sitting in a cafeteria. by the time i was finished eating, i reached for my onigiri that i had grabbed earlier and was SO thankful because i was still starving. i took one but and found a long black hair in it. i took a picture before i pulled the whole thing out. i wish i had gone somewhere else today.

Finally got to try KC craft after a long time. Service and atmosphere were great! I had really high expectations due to its popularity but while it was delicious, their ramen is VERY oily. It was oily to the point where I had a hard time finishing it and I am one who typically clears my bowl. It is still worth the try! But if you’re not a big fan of oily broths, this might not be your cup of tea.

So amazing. Love the spicy vegan ramen. They are always nice enough to put the spice on the side so I can choose how spicy to make it. The tofu is wonderful. Can't get enough of this place! Love that they offer alcoholic beverages too. I have been 4 or 5 times now it's always delicious. I recommend ordering extra broth to go to get more out of your left overs.

We attended a recent pop-up event at KC Craft Ramen and were very pleased with the experience. It was more than just a meal! It was an experience from the minute we walked in the front door! Customers are greeted loudly and cheerfully by the entire staff. Every one of the wait staff was friendly and welcoming. The food was phenomenal. The goodies store in the front of the shop is fascinating. I could have spent an hour in there! We even met the chef who was on the floor making sure every one was happy with their food. And as we left the staff again thanked us and welcomed us back soon. What a fun and delicious meal. We can’t wait to go back again.

KC Craft Ramen is busy and for a good reason. This place gets PACKED, so checking in online while you’re on the way is the move. It puts you in a digital line and helps cut down the wait. Once you arrive, there may still be people waiting depending on the time of day. Guests are asked to wait outside, which helps keep the entry clear. When your table is ready, make your way through the crowd and let the host know, otherwise they may seat others who step up first. The food absolutely delivers. Everything tasted fresh, well prepared, and satisfying. The appetizers were solid, and the ramen hit exactly how it should. Great flavors, done right. The atmosphere is unique and adds to the experience. I haven’t found many ramen spots in KC that truly hit the spot, but this one nails it. Will definitely be back.
