I've been coming here for a year now, and this is the best chicken I've ever eaten. I'm from Europe and have traveled extensively, but I've never eaten anything like this before. Oh! And dumplings are heaven on earth ! I really love this place!
I stopped by 1981 K-Chicken to try something quick and went with the spicy chicken combo. The sandwich itself had a great presentation—it came on a nice bun with cabbage and sauce, and the chicken was breaded and fried perfectly. The venue has a really modern, clean feel to it, and the staff was both attentive and fast, which made for a smooth experience. However, the flavor didn’t quite live up to the look. While the chicken was cooked well and had a nice crunch, it felt a little oily and lacked deep seasoning. The sauce wasn't particularly outstanding either, and for a "spicy" sandwich, it didn't really have that "wow factor" I was hoping for. As someone who loves a Chick-fil-A spicy chicken sandwich, I actually think Chick-fil-A still has the edge on flavor, even though this one looked more impressive when it hit the table. It’s clear the team here puts a lot of effort into the facility and the preparation, but the end result felt more adequate than impressive. It has a lot of potential if they can just dial in the seasoning and maybe cut back on the oiliness of the fry. It was a decent, quick meal, but probably not something I’d go out of my way to head back for. A solid 3.5 Stars only on food.
We used to go to CM Chicken all the time, but ever since 1982 Chicken opened, it’s become our go-to spot. The customer service here is top-notch, and hands down, it’s the best place in town for Korean fried chicken. The wings are absolutely delicious — crispy, not greasy — and the spicy soy garlic flavor is unbeatable. The fries are another standout, especially paired with their incredible truffle mayo. The owner even mentioned that he imports truffle oil from New York to get that perfect truffle flavor — it really shows how serious he is about delivering top-quality taste. The white honey garlic pairs well with the spicy chicken sandwich. We also tried the bulgogi rice, and it was a pleasant surprise. Super delicious and comforting! I didn’t snap a picture of the spicy rice cakes, but trust me — they are the best in town. You can customize the spice level, and level 3 definitely brings the heat! If you’re craving authentic Korean fried chicken and amazing sides, 1982 Chicken is the spot. Highly recommend!
I've never been here, but it was really good...id definitely come here again...but lol who goes to a chicken place an gets Ramen lol we did...we got Ramen an it was worth it.
One of the best Korean fried chicken places in town. We ordered fried dumplings, mocha cheese balls, truffle fries, crispy spicy fried wings with spicy soy garlic sauce, pork fried rice. Fried dumplings, truffle fries and pork fried rice were my favorite. Fried chicken was also amazing, but I wish I selected the original spicy batter, because the cripsy spicy batter is apparently a double batter and we felt it was too much batter, delicious nevertheless. Also glad to see the restaurant is open until midnight on the weekends.
Food was delicious, music was a great vibe, and the owner was awesome to chat with. If you’re looking for a place with a relaxed atmosphere and great food, pay this place a visit. I had the truffle fries and honey soy chicken. I’ll definitely be back!
Another excellent meal at 1981 K-Chicken. I had the fried mandu and boneless combo (spicy soy garlic) with Cajun fries and lemonade. Genuinely one of the best k-chicken experiences - if not THE best - I’ve ever had. Chicken was perfectly battered, light, crispy and flavorful with fantastic texture and crunch. Fries were well seasoned. Pickled radish was refreshing and a good balance to the meal. Vibes were immaculate. Chill k-pop playlist was a stroke of genius on the part of the host. The combo was $17 and came with a perfect amount of food to satiate my months-long k-chicken cravings. If no one else got me, I know 1981 K-Chicken got me.
