Kumori Sushi & Teppanyaki Uptown Plaza

​My wife and I are long-time fans of Kumori, having visited almost all of their locations, including those in San Antonio. After our recent visits, we can confidently say that the Kumori at Uptown Plaza is the absolute best of them all. ​The food here is always on point and never disappoints. Whether it’s the freshness of the fish or the perfect seasoning of the cooked dishes, the consistency is incredible. Some of our must-order favorites include: ​Octopus Carpaccio: Perfectly sliced and flavorful. ​New Style Sashimi (Sake): A fresh, modern take that hits every time. ​Kanki Roll: Our go-to for a perfect specialty roll. ​Yakimeshi Beef: Hearty, savory, and always prepared exactly right. ​What really sets this location apart is the staff. From the moment you walk in, everyone—the servers, the sushi bar chefs, and the kitchen team—is professional, welcoming, and attentive.

The atmosphere was great, great place for a date as well. My reasoning for the 3 is the fact that when you purchase 2 all you can eat adult meals, if you're with a baby, even if they're not even 1, you can't share with them. You would have to buy a whole all you can eat pass for them too which i have traveled and not even at Disney world do they do that. It was an inconvenience solely for that fact for us. The portions of the all you can eat were great and you only gave 1.5 hours to eat. Great selection

This location is still the best one compared to others when it comes to Customer Service. Of course food and ambiance also. JC was our waiter today and he is awesome. Great vibe, friendly, and quick response time. We came from the Nolana location because there was a wait and low in staffing so we came here and we are so glad we did. Still 10/10, highly recommend 👌

Steph was an amazing server at Kumori! I had my kids with me, and she was incredibly patient, kind, and understanding the whole time. She made us feel comfortable, kept checking in to make sure everyone was happy, and never made us feel rushed even with little ones at the table. Her service was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. She helped make our family dinner smooth and enjoyable — we’ll definitely be coming back and asking for Steph again!

Raul was our server and made our experience so much more enjoyable. Food was amazing, and very filling. $20 for the lunch price is good for all that you can get. Good quality food with great taste, until you’re filled up.

Thought i could share the amazing service i had while at Kumori's! Steph was an amazing server! She was friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. She knew the menu well, made great recommendations, and checked in at just the right times to make sure everything was perfect. Her positive attitude really elevated the whole dining experience, and it’s clear she takes pride in her job!

The only highlight of this experience was that the service was great. We ordered the all you can eat sushi buffet. The waiters continued to try the force miso soup onto us before we ordered. Fun fact liquid makes you feel full faster 😉 our first round came out nice and fresh and we were satisfied. But as we continue the order sushi rolls and appetizers we noticed that they kept increasing the salt volume in the food to the point it was gross. A huge contrast from our first order to our third order. They are adding salt to the all you can eat sushi deal to get you to stop eating. Lots of tricks in their all you can eat options. Just get the sushi boat for $66 better value better flavor.
