Customer Reviews
Ramen Bowls has a rating of 4.3 out of 5 based on over 2015 reviews on Google
Don’t be fooled by Ramen Bowls Lawrence. My friends and I came in last night looking for some delicious ramen. We were seated fairly quickly and already had looked over the menu and knew what we wanted. I got the surf and turf ramen bowl which had a chicken broth base. There were little to no seasonings and felt like I could have made it from home. The soup base was literally just chicken broth and the shrimps were burned and the steak was chewy. We didn’t even finish the meal. After when we went to pay and the server asked how the meal was we told her honestly it was not what we expected and did not really enjoy it. She apologized and did not offer any sympathy or further follows up to our unsatisfactory experience. Though the presentation and atmosphere was nice it was severely lacking in the taste department. Not only that I was charged over $45 for a bowl of ramen and a drink. Would not go back. There is another ramen spot in the area called Gaia Sushi that was wonderful and had way more flavor and was way more affordable. I recommend them!
We were there at 1pm on a Wednesday. No waiting. We were greeted & seated promptly by a friendly hostess. Our waiter arrived quickly for our drink order. He was very friendly and answered a question about odon & miso noodles. We ordered the crab rangoon nacho appetizer which was HUGE. Delicious! Also available in a half order. We also ordered Edemame which was steamed, but also must have been lightly fried because it was a bit crispy. I love steamed edemame but this was a bit elevated and even more enjoyable because of the extra crunch. I ordered Post Rock Beef which arrived piping hot. I ordered Kim Chi on the side. The broth was flavorfu with a bit of heat. Chili paste, sesame seeds, scallions, spinach along with the noodles and tender, thinly sliced beef made the generously sized bowl very beautiful and delicious. My friends ordered Won Ton Noodle bowl and Hakata Tonkotsu which they said were delicious. Extremely good food, pleasant, knowledgeable staff, comfortable environment.
Fun atmosphere and our server gave great recommendations from the menu. Our bowls were enough to fill us, but pricey for what you get (mine had two razor thin pieces of meat, but the seafood bowl had a lot more). Hint: park and walk. It took us almost as long to figure out the city’s parking app as it did to get our food, ha
Been hearing about this place for awhile now. Everyone told me the portions were huge and the food was good. Well, the food is delicious, but the portions are insanely small for the price. You'll pay around $18 for a bowl like mine, and if you're a normal sized adult male then you'll be able to eat 5 of these bowls because of how small the portions are. You're basically getting a single packet of ramen, a bite of meat, half an egg, and some onions. It was delicious but not worth the price. Bummer. Place is cool though, very good atmosphere and great service. Probably won't be back again unless the portions double or the price is halved.
Waited 10 minutes or so standing around to be seated, there was only one guy at the front and he was on the phone taking orders. Could've called a manager to come over or one of the other employees could have helped, but we did get a table eventually (after bothering him a few times, he did not initiate any interaction with us, a simple "I'll be with you in a minute" would have sufficed). After getting a table we waited an additional 30-40 minutes with hardly any check-ins from our waiter. We had to go up and ask to get any explanation for the wait. Apparently they had been backed up all day with online orders. We had to practically beg our waiter for something to eat, as he told us the kitchen was very resistant to communicating with the waitstaff. We finally got a bowl of plain white rice. It didn't even touch our table before the the fire alarm went off and the fire department showed up. That was our signal to leave. Terrible experience overall. They could have told us when we got there the kitchen was delayed and it would be a long wait, or they could've stopped taking online orders and focus on all the customers sitting around waiting for food. I'm sure the food is great, but I didn't get to eat anything. If you come in and don't immediately get seated, you should probably just leave and avoid a situation like this.
First time at the new location. We were very excited they moved into the hotel where I usually stay. Quality of food had declined at the Mass St. location so we hadn't been in a while but we were optimistic and reviews seemed positive. Our party of 3 ordered 2 appetizers and then ramen. After a 50 minute wait, we still hadn't received our apps. We were seated directly across from the kitchen and watched every online order get fulfilled before restaurant orders even though they kept seating tables. No warning was giving to new tables about the long wait for food. Our server was somewhat attentive and acknowledged we were upset and was willing to cancel our order (which I'm sure the kitchen was happy about) which is the only reason I gave them a 2 star review. The food rating is based off the quality of food at the Mass location before the move. I wish I could I have given one post move. Maybe next time we'll order delivery.
I play in a touring band and it’s hard to find a great food spot night after night in random places. With saying this, there’s been many duds on the road but this place is special and one of the best ramen bowls I’ve had. The place is excellent!! The whole band ate here and everyone loved it! 5 stars for sure!
