If you're reading this, stop reading. And go eat here! If you have celiac disease or food sensitivities, this is your spot. They proudly told us they transitioned all their fryers to be celiac-safe this year, and their protocols for preventing cross-contamination are excellent. The service is fantastic; our waitress was well-informed and happy to double-check ingredients with the kitchen. They even caught a corn-based ingredient in my sauce and remade my meal before it hit the table (I avoid corn). Ordered the Pork Belly Burnt Ends (Omit Kimchi Waffle) and Merchants Burger (GF Bun) Highly recommended for safe, stress-free dining. We will be eating here again soon!

Met a friend for dinner that has celiac and we both appreciated that almost everything could be easily catered for different dietary needs. We had the smoked trout dip (amazing), duck and dumplings (so satisfying), and the chocolate budino... The pudding was extra thick and delicious, and the raspberries sealed the deal on it being one of the best desserts I've had all year. Next time I come through town, I know I'll be back here!

Merchants Pub and Plate is a delightful place with locally sourced food that tastes delicious. Everything tasted fresh and it was expertly plated. The price wasn't too steep for the excellent quality. We were seated on the upper floor and had a lovely time. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, and we will definitely be back!

Amazing Valentine’s Day dinner! The food was delicious and the service was world-class. Truly one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in Lawrence lately. The only reason for the 4-star rating was the Red Velvet Cheesecake. It tasted delicious, but the amount of artificial red dye used was clearly excessive and caused some pretty alarming (and colorful) digestive issues the next day. For a restaurant of this caliber, I expected a more natural approach to their desserts. Great night, but skip the red velvet!

The food was very good and reasonably priced unless you pick steak which is expensive anywhere you go. Nice atmosphere in an older building. Great location in the middle of the town. Nice area to take an after dinner walk. Service was just ok but the host was great and very friendly.

Food was alright! It was Friday night which I take into consideration. Our sandwiches were a little boring, fries could have been better but I appreciate that they were hand cut. My wine was phenomenal. I mean outstanding. Service was great. The second floor seating was really cool.

I had the sweet potato donuts and the lemon ricotta pancakes, both very good but the pancakes are better if you want something a little less sweet. Very friendly staff, and the food came out quick. The potato’s were seasoned and delicious as well.
