Customer Reviews
Gung Chae Korean Cuisine & Grilling has a rating of 4.5 out of 5 based on over 59 reviews on Google
Specializing in authentic, health-conscious flavors, Gung Chae Korean Cuisine has established itself as a premier destination for those seeking traditional Korean comfort food outside the busy Chinatown corridor. Whether you visit their fast-casual "Healthy Kitchen" in Centennial and Henderson or their full-service Town Square location, the emphasis remains on fresh ingredients and "grandma-style" home cooking. Menu Highlights Hot Stone Pot Bibimbap: A crowd favorite featuring a colorful mix of fresh vegetables and sizzled rice. Pro tip: The Veggie Bibimbap traditionally includes an egg, while protein versions like the bulgogi or spicy pork may require it as an add-on. Dosirak (Meal Boxes): These generous trays are a masterclass in value, pairing a main protein—like the tender LA Short Ribs—with rice, four flavorful house-made banchan, and a choice of Kimchi or Soybean Stew. Signature Rolls: Their Kimbap selection is extensive, with the Tuna Mayo and Vegan Yubu (tofu skin) options earning high marks for their non-oily, refreshing taste. The Experience The atmosphere is modern and clean, often featuring calming background music and an open kitchen where you can see the preparation. While some diners find the Town Square pricing slightly higher due to the premium location, the quality and thoughtful packaging for takeout consistently exceed expectations. Comfort foodie, it’s so fulfilling and the ambiance were chill
Comfort food after a long drive and stormy weather. The tofu soup beef was hot and great texture. It came with a salad and rice. Also ordered a bulgogi and side of rice. Everything was flavorful. Service was nice and efficient.
Starter Side Dishes 1/5 One of the worst small plates I’ve had. Tofu Soup with Beef 3/5 The meat quality was awful, and the flavor was a bit unusual. Bibimbap 2/5 The meat quality was awful, and the flavor was very strange. Next time, I’ll go with the tofu soup with vegetables and kimbap. Avoid anything kimchi related, their kimchi quality is uneatable.
Service was very fast. Food is all fresh and perfectly done. Ambiance is clean and modern. Approachable, well priced menu also.
Do not miss the Kimchi Pancake! It was crispy on the outside, soft and loaded with kimchi on the inside. The flavor was tangy, savory, and so satisfying. Perfectly greasy in the best way possible, and the soy-vinegar dipping sauce was the ideal tangy complement. A must-order appetizer for sure.
I admit great food but service was terrible. My friends and I walk in as a group of 4. They sit us down at a table with 2 cups and 2 plates. Common sense to to give us 2 more right? Nope, never gave it to us, had to ask for 2 more to get it. They gave us no banchan even though other tables around us all got them. The lady working was overall rude and had a bad attitude with no respect. We showed respect and was kind but the attitude given automatically put the mood down. The only person working that was nice was the trainee. If you want a nice place to eat with kind workers I wouldn't choose this one.
For some reason we got a rice bowl with no rice. Small portions and not enough meat. Good date spot tho. Not exactly worth it for the price unless you’re on a date and like the area. I highly recommend you ask for extra meat 👌
