Sandee’s Thai Fusion

A very honest review from a vegan foodie 🙂 This Thai spot in downtown Janesville is super cute—great ambiance, good music, and would probably make for a nice date night location. It’s located right near the courthouse and close to the Olde Towne Mall area. Parking is limited, so be prepared to walk a bit. I’m vegan, and I ordered takeout—specifically the basil fried rice with tofu. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. The rice was extremely dry and lacked flavor, which is surprising for Thai food. This is usually a go-to dish that most Thai restaurants do really well, so it caught me off guard. Staff was polite and friendly during pickup, but the overall experience just didn’t meet expectations. I also noticed they didn’t have change available, so if you pay in cash, your total may be rounded up—just something to be aware of. The portion size was small for the $18 price tag, and while I appreciate that they offer vegan options, the flavor and value just weren’t there this time. I’m surprised by the high rating (around 4.4 stars), but I’m guessing that might be based on non-vegan dishes. Maybe I’ll try something else in the future, but based on this first experience, it wasn’t worth it. My main recommendation: cook with flavor and improve the quality of takeout orders to match the atmosphere.

It's so nice having a different restaurant in town that's not the same as everything else! Every dish on the menu is delicious. And if you dont like spicy dont worry they can make most any dish non spicy! Highly recommend the soups (tom yum or tom kah), authentic dishes like the curries, larb, spicy basil, pad se eiw, pad Thai, kow soi. Tried a new menu item called pad mee haeng which was amazing! The owner and staff are also very friendly and welcoming. I recommend this to everyone!

Such a cute and cozy place! The servers are friendly, helpful with recommendations and knowledgeable on the menu. The food is always great, love trying different items on the menu. Pictured is the Rama delight, the peanut sauce comes on the side but I could barely wait to enjoy this meal! Such a delicious dish. Also pictured the secret orchid martini, and the pomegranate lemon martini. All of the staff are amazing, love dining here!

Absolutely loved our experience at Sandee's. The food was delicious, our waitress was wonderful, and we will be coming back to slowly work our way through the menu. The guava margarita was phenomenal, and my husband loved his old fashion. Highly recommend!

This was our first visit to this establishment. We will have to go back and try this place one more time. The biggest complaint I have was the wait time (1 Hour) between the App and the Entree. We had the Summer Roll for an Appetizer. The Roll was wrapped a little too loose, but otherwise it was pretty good. I had Massaman Curry. The Curry was not very warm in the Temperature department. I ordered Medium for spice, so next time I definitely need to go spicier. The Medium seemed more like a Mild. However, the Flavor was awesome and I will have to try this again. The only complaint is that the Onions needed to be cooked a little more. The Fried Rice was cooked very well and the Flavor was on point. Overall a good place but the wait time for the Entree could be improved.

The food was great and I will definitely go back but I will make a reservation for a back booth or I will do take out. Our server was very nice but our water never got refilled, it took almost 20 minutes to get our dessert. The tables are very close together, it's hard to have a conversation without the people on both sides of you hearing. Then when it gets busy it's so loud next to you that you can't hear the person across from you talk. It's an old building so as staff are walking past your table the floor and table shakes. I definitely recommend trying the food just giving a heads up. Had I known I would've done it differently.

First time there tonight. It wasn't the worse I have had but wasn't what I was expecting. A long wait to even get drinks, they took our drink order the same time they took our food orders. Took a long time to get food. The atmosphere was ok, tables were really close together so it didn't feel to private. The food was ok, it had a good flavor but could have definitely used more flavor. The sauce was plain and didn't really taste anything more than Soy Sauce. Mt wife really enjoyed it though. Unsure if it is somewhere I will return.
