We went on a Sunday afternoon, and the place was pretty packed, but luckily there was no wait at all, which was nice. As soon as we sat down, the server came by and filled the table with a bunch of banchan (side dishes) — honestly, I was impressed. There were about 15 different dishes on the table, and we hadn’t even ordered yet. We went with the AYCE B option, which is about $5 extra but totally worth it since you get more choices and a better variety of meats. With the B option, you also get two free appetizers of your choice (no refills though). I got the soybean stew and the braised beef short rib. The soybean stew was decent, nothing special, but the short rib was really good — though the portion was a bit small, with three little pieces and one big one. We ordered a bunch of different meats, and honestly, everything was fresh, juicy, and didn’t have any weird smell. The sushi and other items were also really good. I didn’t really have anything to complain about food-wise. The only downside was that it took a while for someone to come take our order — we waited over 30 minutes after being seated. We even finished all the banchan before ordering since we came hungry. But I could tell our server was super busy running around taking care of several tables, so I understand. Once the food started coming, everything went smoothly after that. The ambiance was okay. My husband mentioned he had been here before and said the place has changed a lot — in a good way. The only thing I would fix is the TV placement. It’s in a weird spot where it’s hard to see, and I personally like watching something while eating. One thing I really liked is that they have a small playground and a few arcade games outside by the entrance. It’s free, has AC, and there are benches to sit on — a great idea for families with kids, especially if there’s a wait. Overall, it’s a nice and affordable spot for Korean BBQ that definitely hits the craving. I’d for sure come back again.
This was our 3rd day in Houston and wanted to venture out. I decided on Handam BBQ. This was a little different than your average place, and my wife and I had not done something like this in quite a while. At first it was a little overwhelming because they put 10 little plates on the table, and I did not know what anything is. Nonetheless, our kind waiter Daniel assisted us in letting know what everything was. Furthermore, we decided to order our main entrees. Handam has a ALL you can eat special(All you can eat for $35). This was reasonable. The Ribeye Bulgolgi is a must. I would also recommend the number 9 sushi roll, I do not remember the name, sorry for anyone reading this. Honorable mentions of other food we tried was the chicken that was marinated(not my favorite), corn which was delicious, white rice, and pork ribs which were great! Overall, a little pricey, but definitely a nice time out with my wife. Overall, I will definitely come back when I visit Houston.
We truly loved the service here. We visited last Saturday, and the beautiful regional manager who took care of our table spoke both Korean and Chinese, which made the experience especially welcoming. She was extremely friendly and attentive, recommending excellent BBQ dishes for us as well as hand rolls that our kids absolutely loved. Every staff member was hardworking and attentive — promptly clearing plates, changing the grill and utensils, and serving food efficiently throughout the meal. We felt genuinely well taken care of from beginning to end. Overall, this is the best BBQ service I’ve experienced in Houston. Amazing food paired with outstanding service. We will definitely return and highly recommend it.
The wait to get sat down for 6 people on a Friday night didn’t take long. Only about 20 minutes give or take. Has great banchan and it’s awesome that they have someone coming around at all time with a refill cart to constantly topping off your plates. The meat was great as well as nicely marinated.
Decent service, good tasting kbbq in Chinatown. Large menu to choose from and many side dishes will fill the whole table. However, I was charged for a cheese corn $8.00 which I was not made aware of. I would never pay additional charges if I'm doing AYCE, I find this so ridiculous and unfair as I was NOT told about it. My server said he talked to the manager and they didn't want to take it off the bill. Was a little disappointed about that. I thought ayce meant ayce and I would get some type of confirmation that I would be charged extra if I wanted to continue with this order. That wasn't the case and left it left a sour taste. Would still probably come back and confirm if there's extra charges for ANYTHING.
it was my first time here. I thought I'd try it out to see what the hype was all about. There was really nothing. There was a roach in the salad. I spoke to the waitress. management was only willing to give a 25% discount. they only bumped it to 50% because I threatened to leave a bad review on Google. personally I thought the meal should have been free. My sister and I lost our appetite and we couldn't even continue eating because of the ROACH.
Oh this was a big win for my kiddos. So much fun to try new things. We had the kalbi, beef rolls, pork belly, and ribs! Absolutely delicious. We got some spicy tuna rolls too that were fresh and well made. The sides were FANTASTIC and flavorful. Some were too spicy for my kids, so test them out first before big bites from kiddos.
