Kal Bi was quite tasty. I would've liked a couple more different banchans. It was a decent amount of food. Nice atmosphere and friendly lady. It ends up being a bit pricey though, ~$26 with tip.
This place is very simple and casual. The food is good and on par with most other Korean bbq plate lunch spots on the island. We ordered the meat jun, kalbi + chicken, kalbi + bulgogi, stone pot kimbap, and seafood pancake. In generally it was all tasty, but nothing special. The seafood pancake was really starchy, and probably was my least favorite of the dishes. For the price, I would come back if I was in the area, but I don’t think I’d travel out of the way to come here.
Visited a few times, mostly for takeout. Its a decent local korean food restaurant, definitely better than the Kim Chees around Oahu. This time, I just purchased some fried mandoo, 7 pieces for $17.99. It tasted like mandoo, nothing bad to say...just pricey. Service is good, though the cashier forgot what I ordered. The restaurant was clean with plenty of tables and chairs. Like all Korean restaurants, kpop was on TV.
Was craving meat jun and kalbi so we stopped by Seoul Cook. The menu is expansive and I'd definitely like to come back to try the soup. They have chicken + meat jun on the menu, and she was able to sub the chicken for kalbi (came out to be ~$26, and I def got my moneys worth). I saw a few other pictures with mac salad, and wish I had knew to ask for some. Overall the food was good, but I wouldn't say it's been my fave lunch plate.
Yo… one of the best tasting side dishes ever! Their lunch special is the go to spot; can’t beat that tofu soup, meat, and rice combo! Too bad I wasn’t able to take a photo of their Kalbi, but man it was banging. Their bulgogi went well with the rice and soup. I’m coming back for seconds!
Meat Jun and Kalbi….both very flavorful and delicious. Comes with an assortment of banchans that compliment your meal. Great spot for local residents in the Kakaako area. Typical Korean dishes, served fresh and fast.
order at the counter, pick an open table, they bring you water and side banchan dishes so this is a hybrid fast counter. food is decent, not mind blowing but good enuff to be a regular place for neighbors. on better value size, i dig places that give you free water since drinks can really inflate your bill. i had the spicy cold noodles and it was satisfying. the braised potatoe banchan was outstanding.
