Pick & Mix Korean Restaurant

I went to this place really looking forward to trying the spicy pork. I first stopped by around 11:20 AM, but they weren’t open yet. So I came back at 12:30 PM, and the doors were finally open. There was a Spanish lady sitting inside, and at first I thought she was another customer. It turned out she was actually the staff. She didn’t greet me or say anything—just looked at me—so I placed my order for the spicy pork. Her only response was a single word: "No." There was no explanation, no alternative offered, nothing. At that moment, I felt there was no reason to try anything else on the menu. If the service starts like this, I can only imagine how the food would taste. If the owner were Korean, I truly don’t believe the restaurant would be run this way. It’s disappointing, because I was really hoping for a good Korean meal

My family and I have been coming here since we moved to the town a few years ago. We've always loved the place and it has become a regular part of our rotation, coming here a few times a week. To be fair, the food good. The staff has changed throughout the years but has never been an issue. However, there is a gentleman that has been working there for the past few months that really makes this place not somewhere we want to go anymore. He is rude, plays on his phone while your standing there waiting to order completely ignoring you, and gives you attitude about just making an order because you've inconvenienced him playing on his phone. Super sad because we love the place, the concept, and the food. Maybe the west hartford place is better, but a bit too far for us to go often.

I got some dinner from this place on a Friday night and was able to order ahead and pick it up. The ordering online process was really easy to choose all the toppings as well as the rice and sauce. Overall it was good, they put a lot of vegetables/meat and not too much rice which I loved. The biggest difference between this and a traditional bibimbap bowl is that they mix everything together for you and it isn't in layers, so I was hoping the sauce was mixed throughout. I just had a bit of it on the top so the bottom rice was a bit bland, but this is easily solved for asking for some on the side next time. Overall good, I'd recommend a visit!

Disgusting food. First time trying this. We ordered online and headed to the restaurant 20min later, guess what, they did not even start the order. When we got the food, the bowl is soaked in oil. We drained a whole bottle worth oil out. Not recommend and will not come back ever again. Waste of money.

Primarily Take-out*** I've had Pick & Mix Korean bookmarked for a while and finally got to try it. DELICOUS! Ordered takeout online and everything was great. This will def be one of my new go to spots. Ordered the Spicy Pork with Sweet Potato Glass Noodles and Beef Bul-go-gi with Brown Rice Also got a sides of Steamed and Fried Dumplings. AMAZING! Can't wait to order again and try everything else they got. Thanks!!

Placed an order on line for pick up. Ordered a dish with marinated beef. As I went to pick up my order, I got a call from the restaurant telling me they don't have beef. It was 5pm on Friday. What! Second time this has happened, although last time it was much later in the day so I can somewhat understand. Further, I ordered the kimchi fried rice. It said it included sausage. I didn't know Korean sausage are another name for hot dogs. Also ordered fried and steamed dumplings. Only the fried came with dipping sauce. Usually enjoy their food. Unfortunately, extremely disappointed this time.

I've supported this place for many years and never had any issues until more recently. The staff makes you feel unwelcome as soon as you walk in. They yell at each other in the back room, loudly, and practically throw around the lids to the veggie containers while filling your order. It's just an uncomfortable experience and a shame.
