Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse

We aren’t new to Jeff Ruby's, but tonight was exceptionally good. The greeting at the hostess counter definitely set the tone. I think hands down we had the best server in the building. Jordan was great and really couldn’t say more. His input on options for dinner, desserts, cocktails he didn’t steer my family wrong. The ambiance was great and the food always exceptional. I highly recommend this place for an amazing dinner experience.

Well, we flew out to Ohio for a business meeting this past Monday Oct 6, our 2nd visit Jan 5th 2026. We were guests, and walking into this place, it just was different, like a 30-40’s place, pretty neat. First, I felt underdressed jeans, t-shirt, all good though, but we were there to try things and feast. The food, service was incredible. One thing I will say is the experience, never had the detail and attention the staff had. Our waiter was incredible, on top of his game, funny, awesome sense or humor and super confident on anything he was going to bring us, a notable difference. We have had some great service before, from dedicated waitstaff, but this one left a mark that stood out, a good one. To our good local friends here who brought us out, thank you. What an impressive, location that combines great food, service and atmosphere that is very unique and I mean that in a great, good sense, wow. For me, it’s abit pricey for some items like our Wagyu A5 Sirloin which we tried, they offer some of the rarest steaks. I have to tell you, it was soo good, 1st time in my life I’ve tried this and it was a treat, incredibly delicious and again 100% a treat. Thank you again to the staff there and our new friends. What an establishment! The ambiance of this place is equally as important as any dish or drink you'll enjoy. It simply exudes elegance on every level. At a place like this, every aspect needs to hit and the server added to the incredible experience. We put in all our food choices and it was brought out with perfect cadence as the dinner progressed. Perfection. Every dish was delicious. We started with the Bluefin Tuna Flight and crabcake. It was impeccable. Premier sashimi that justified the price. Even the bread and truffle butter were unbelievable. We then moved to steaks and lobster which were cooked perfectly. My only complaint is that that Bernaise sauce on top had started to congeal. For any special occasion, you cannot top Jeff Ruby's. It's the most elegant dinner I've had in Columbus and is worth all the accolades they have received over the years!

Jeff Ruby is one of the best steakhouses in the country. Every visit is uniformly great. Beautiful space, food is always top notch, our server tonight, Jordan was the best. We started with the complimentary bread with butter and an incredible truffle butter. Next, our party of four shared appetizers of crab cakes, oyster Rockefeller, and an A5 ribeye. All perfectly prepared. My son and I shared the 70 days aged Cowboy steak for our entrees and apple sorbet and the best crème brûlée in town. We highly recommend Jeff Ruby!

Was in town from Cleveland and just happened to be staying at the hotel across the street so we made reservations for 7. Our table was not ready at 7 so they sat us at the bar until time. They offered us complimentary waiting drink but we politely declined as we wanted to eat before having alcohol. Once our table was ready we ordered drinks and food. Our waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu; when he noticed I was only ordering sides he asked if I was vegetarian and I said yes, he then offered to have the kitchen make me a veggie pasta that was not even on the menu! How nice! I politely declined since we had placed our orders already and I didn’t need that much food. While eating the manager came by and asked if everything was good, she was just making her rounds as I saw her go to other tables as well. When she came back she told us she was informed we had to wait for our reservation and apologized profusely. Not once did we complain or seem upset so I thought it was really nice that she took it upon herself to even offer apologies. At the end of our meal we learned the manager comped over 50% of our bill, for our wait. I could not believe it. Incredibly nice thing to do especially since we were not even upset at all. She just WANTED to make it right. Absolutely wonderful service I cannot wait to travel back!!

A fabulous spot for a date night in cbus. We enjoyed everything from the drinks to the entrees to the dessert. Steaks were cooked to perfection and the woodford chocolate cake was to die for! Not to mention the incredible service, everyone was exceptionally friendly. We will definitely be returning to enjoy another night out!

I had a very disappointing experience at Jeff Ruby’s. A friend drove over an hour for us to dine together, expecting a high-quality experience, but the service significantly fell short. Our waitress, Rachel, spoke to me with a noticeably dismissive and unpleasant tone after I placed my order. When my steak arrived overcooked, I calmly brought it to her attention. She looked at me, looked at the plate, looked back at me again, said nothing, and walked away without offering any assistance or solution. No apology, no follow-up, no attempt to correct the issue. In contrast, my friend’s $200 steak was prepared perfectly, and he did not receive the same treatment. After Rachel walked away, my friend even asked if her behavior toward me was racially motivated, as the difference in service was that apparent and uncomfortable. Other staff members we encountered were kind and professional, but Rachel’s behavior made me feel unwelcome and disregarded. The situation made me so uncomfortable that I no longer wanted to stay, and it completely ruined what was supposed to be a special evening. Given the reputation and price point of this restaurant, this level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. I left feeling disappointed and disrespected.
