Very impressed with the service and food at Roka Akor on Clark St. We ordered a couple shareables and two rolls along with two desserts. My wife’s blood orange margarita was really good and the two glasses of wine I had were excellent. Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive. Loved sitting in the booth. Very lovely dinner with my wife at Christmas time in Chicago. Couldn’t have asked for a better dinner. The desserts were the best we’ve ever had. Thank you and we’ll be back the next time we are in the area.

This downtown Chicago Japanese fusion spot is absolutely next level. The fish? Pristine, next-level fresh. They offer an amazing variety, and tasting them from lightest color to the final tuna is a must-do—it totally unlocks the flavor profile. Seriously, every single dish is extremely flavorful (shoutout to the unreal mushroom side). Beyond sushi, the Prime Rib Eye was a perfect, juicy medium-rare, and we loved that it was served pre-cut. The vibe is chic: a cool open kitchen, and the window views of the street bathed in fall colors are stunning. Plus, the staff are genuinely friendly and take time to explain everything. Highly recommend—it's a perfect Chicago dining moment.

Excellent service and food! We checked with the staff for halal options and all their prime cuts and chiken yakatori were halal. Kathryn was excellent and ealked us through their menu for the best experience! We ordered the chicken yakatori, fingerling potatoes, prime NY strip steak and Skirt Strip steak... Each dish was very flavorful and did not have the newd for any extra sauces. The temperature on the steak was perfect, and the overall the steak was very juicy.

We went as a group of four for an early dinner mid-week, and despite the timing, the atmosphere was really good. It became busier as the evening went on. The food—both the steak and sushi—was fresh and excellent, and the service was quick and friendly. We would definitely go back.

I had a truly delightful dining experience at this restaurant in the heart of River North. To begin, we shared an assortment of appetizers, including tempura, sushi, and dumplings, each prepared with remarkable freshness and balance of flavor. For the main course, I ordered the New York Strip, which was exceptionally tender, perfectly cooked, and finished with a crisp, flavorful sear. The service was equally impressive—attentive, thoughtful, and genuinely committed to ensuring an excellent evening. I look forward to returning soon.

The food was excellent overall. The Brussels sprouts were perfectly prepared, and the tuna tataki was incredibly fresh, literally melting in the mouth. The lychee martini was delicious and well balanced, and the rolls were great. The wagyu was a bit rarer than expected but still very good and flavorful. The octopus itself was tasty and well cooked, though it felt a bit lost in the salad, and pairing it with potatoes was not the best combination in my opinion. We finished with the passion fruit dessert, which was excellent and a perfect ending to the meal. Great food, great drinks, and a place I would gladly return to and recommend.
