Shelton State Community College C.A. Fredd Campus

It honestly feels like this institution couldn’t care less about its reputation or the quality of its services. I’ve been trying to help my sister apply for the international student program for over four weeks now, and I’ve received zero response. I’ve called and emailed the international student services office multiple times — four emails and around eight calls — and have not heard back once. A few days ago, I even took a day off work to go in person, just to make sure I had the right contact information. Unfortunately, I did — and the staff simply told me that the lady in charge was "just busy." That was their entire response. No apology, no follow-up, nothing. Four weeks with no communication from someone in charge of helping students from overseas is unacceptable. If you are too busy to respond to emails or calls for a month, then maybe this isn’t the right job for you. It makes no sense for Shelton State to advertise an international student program if they clearly don’t have the time or willingness to actually support international students. For comparison, I came to the U.S. as an international student myself — at Samford University — and that experience was the complete opposite. Their international office was responsive, caring, and organized. The lady there even helped me get all my immunizations and walked me through every step of the process before classes started. That’s what it means to care about students. Shelton State has been, without exaggeration, the worst experience I’ve ever had dealing with a college. I took a full day off work for absolutely nothing — zero consideration, zero accountability, zero professionalism.

A culinary arts student on C.A. Fredd campus. The Instructors are great and I enjoy the classes. The Instructors want to ensure you grasp a good foundation towards accomplishing your goals. Chef Pleshette is awesome in her craft as an Chef. You will love her!
