Their unique, music-based curriculum is genius, but it’s the patience and dedication of the team that really makes the place shine. Strong Teaching, But Important Policies Weren’t Communicated We enrolled our kids in this after-school Mandarin program and saw real benefits in their language development. The teachers were engaging, and our children picked up new vocabulary and genuinely enjoyed the learning environment. We truly appreciated that part of the experience. However, we did run into some challenges around communication. Several key policies—such as expectations around bathroom use and a rule about not allowing late arrivals—were never shared with us during enrollment. These were only mentioned weeks after we had already begun the program, which created confusion since we hadn’t been informed upfront that these rules existed. When we tried to clarify these policies and share feedback, a few interactions felt dismissive rather than collaborative. At one point, after posting an honest review, we were strongly encouraged to take it down if we hoped to remain in the program. Even after we removed the review, additional conditions that had never been part of our original enrollment were introduced, and it left us feeling like the door to a constructive conversation was closing rather than opening. We genuinely liked the instruction and would have preferred to stay, but the way the situation was handled—particularly the shifting expectations after we raised concerns—made it difficult for us to move forward. The teaching itself is strong, and with clearer communication around policies and a more open approach to parent feedback, the program could be an excellent experience for future families.

A fantastic Chinese immersion daycare with loving teachers and a nurturing environment. Our daughter feels safe, happy, and is learning Mandarin in such a natural way. Highly recommend!

My 3.5 year immediately started speaking more Chinese at home after starting here, and adjusted quickly to the immersion environment. Prior, the only exposure was me speaking Chinese to him maybe 50% of the time at home. Now I am able to speak more to him at home and feel like he’s tracking! Apart from the language, my kid is learning cultural etiquette too! He’s also been very engaged with school curriculum. The teachers prep every week and have to submit it to the admin for approval, and they really focus on weekly themes daily. They also are consistent with telling parents at the end of the week the new vocab so we can reinforce things. When I pick him up he asks if he can finish his work and sometimes tries to sneak another worksheet - this has never happened before at other schools as he usually books it the second I show up. The ratios are great as is their classroom management. The admin and teaching staff all seem to know the kids which is assuring. When they asked me to bring an emergency prep backpack, they immediately noticed that I had forgotten to include Zyrtec (without looking at any papers for him)! They are very responsive and when my kid was new or when we have a bad drop off they take extra photos to put me at ease. My main regret is not coming here sooner… and I’m sad there’s no immersion elementary in TUSD.

After checking out several schools in the area, we decided on Sing in Chinese — and we couldn’t be happier! The immersion program is engaging and well-balanced, and staff are strong communicators and easy to work with. They share regular updates and photos, which help parents feel informed and reassured. The team also puts so much thought into events, making them fun for the kids and creating a strong sense of community for parents. Most importantly, the teachers are incredibly loving, patient, and truly care about each child. They don’t just teach language and academics — they focus on helping kids build independence, confidence, and curiosity about the world. Outside of school, my daughter loves singing the songs she has learned and enjoys using the learning app created by the founder, Lynn, and her team. I’m impressed by the team’s passion for creating all the enriching resources, from Chinese songs and the learning app, to insightful blog articles on education. It’s clear that they love what they do, and I know my daughter is in great hands. I highly recommend Sing in Chinese to any parent looking for a warm, caring school with an amazing team of dedicated teachers!

My child has been thriving at Sing since starting earlier this year. The teachers make the classes fun with singing. Recently, my child was promoted to another class and school pickups are harder. My child doesn’t want to leave school and go home because of all the fun activities. A bonus for early morning drop off is my child can eat their breakfast at school if I pack a breakfast.
