NIHAO Chinese Afterschool Torrance

My son has been attending Ni Hao for 3-4 months now. He enjoys the class and he knows about 30+ words. He has had a great experience in the kung fu class they offer. The staff are capable, personable and caring. The facility is very clean! I definitely feel safe leaving my child here. Above all, I am pleased all the improvement and learning about the Chinese culture and language.

"我愛我的老師!" (I love my teachers!) - L.T My son has been attending Ni Hao Chinese since he was 2 years old. At that time he wasn't able to communicate in mandarin. The teachers worked with him every class encouraging him to speak through play, music and other activities. They also gave me lots of advice and kept me updated on his progress. Now at almost 5 years old, my son not only speaks fluently to his teachers, but he enjoys writing his Chinese characters. Just yesterday, I had to take my son out of school earlier than usual. We left the school and my son began crying. I later discovered he was upset, because he didn't have a chance to write the new Chinese character "西" with his laoshi (Ma Laoshi). When I enrolled my son to this school I was planning on perhaps a year of the Mommy and Me class, but Ni Hao Chinese school has truly exceeded my expectations. All the teachers are caring, encouraging, positive and focused on all aspects of the child's development. Every year their curriculum has been excellent - encompassing learning, creativity and lots of fun! And if there are concerns or questions, Lisa, the Director and her staff are always available to listen, help or offer suggestions. I am grateful to Ni Hao Chinese school for providing a safe and enjoyable learning environment for my son. He has excelled in the language and continues to suprise me with his knowledge. Wonderful school! Amazing staff! Best Chinese school in the South Bay! My child has learned a great deal at this school. The teachers are hard-working and really care about the children's well-being and education. I've checked other schools in PV and around the area and no establishment offers such a well planned cirriculum with FUN involved. -Just the way language should be taught! Thanks Ni Hao!

Ni Hao Chinese is a wonderful way to learn the Chinese language. The curriculum is laid out concisely. The materials are simple and easy to follow. This allows their students both young and old to learn conversation, reading and writing with ease. I love how one of the instructors emails me directly after class so we can review at home. It also reminds us to use their interactive online games. I would recommend Ni Hao Chinese for language acquisition.

My son loves Ma Laoshi and enjoys going to her class for a year now. The teachers are genuinely caring and hard-working. My son's Chinese has been improving so much since he started here. SUPERB. Enough said.

Took my son to attend the chinese class for the first time last week. I thought it was a friendly joke when I saw the teacher greet the students with "What is my name?" instead of a more welcoming "Good morning." After seeing the teacher do this to several kids that were dropped off by their parents, I realized that was actually how the kids were greeted. Strike 1. The toys in the classroom were all plastic and were not stimulating to my son or the other kids in the classroom. Kids in the class were getting bored and one kid took a book out of his backpack because he was bored with the plastic toys that were battery operated. Strike 2 The last straw was when the teacher name Mrs. Ma told another boy, "If you don't behave, I will take away your star and you won't get a gift." Strike 3. This is not an environment my son or any child will thrive in. They seem to wrap their curriculum on negative-reinforcement vs. play-based and positive reinforcement. I am glad that I stayed for 20 minutes to see how the teachers interacted with the kids. I will not be enrolling my son at this school.

Our kids go to Nihao under the tutelage of teachers Momo and Wanjun and Angel, and it's been fantastic. Teachers are all so loving and caring, and our kids absolutely love the classes. A++
