Was charged $25 to watch a orientation video without being told that it cost $25, no bill was sent out until it was increased to almost $50 and counting for non payment (note i was never told whether in writing or any other notice that it would cost $25)… I was only made aware after they increased it to $50 and sent to collections. Luckily i never signed up for any classes here. Its totally unfair and i was never made aware it even existed until they started adding more money to it. Never seen something like this at any other schools. Tells me everything i need to know about this place. My account is also blocked so i can’t even view anything not even sure if i even watched a orientation video here.
One of the students attending this university kept shatting all over the bathroom walls. Very insanity Also no sacrivwrse class. Bad
I went here for my Junior and Senior year. I graduated top of my class, was called Major of the Year. Even went to Florida to claim a reward. After I graduate top of my class, I was hired to teach Physical Education (this was my major) and I had no idea what I was doing. ISU taught me the content on teaching but not what it meant to be a teacher and how to handle discipline and disrespect from students. I was license to teach k-12, but hardly was taught Highschool ages. Now I lost my desire to teach after 2 years actively teaching and I still owe students loans. Wish there was a way to get a refund and my time back. Don't go here if you want to teach Physical Education. You will have a great time during your time there, but afterwards you will realize you were under-prepared, even if they call you Major of the Year.
ISU is great and I love it. As an art major I have found that there are lots of resources and my teachers really care about what they are teaching. My only problem with my experience here is that as a commuter, I am forced to spend a fortune on a parking pass when there is rarely good parking available. One time I literally used a quarter of a tank of gas looking around for a spot. The school definitely needs to consider making room for more parking or lowering the price of their passes.
NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE!!! Good reviews here are from the 90s grad classes. Management doesn't care about the student body in the least, the entire front office will make your stay there impossible, and much longer than necessary. The professors don't care, actively avoid changing anything to make up for their own mistakes, causing a great disparity between grades earned and awarded in many classes. If you value you your time and your money you won't attend this university.
I got a degree in Communication/Public Relations here and graduated in May of 2017. Overall, it was a great experience! The only thing I didn't like was that I didn't feel challenged very often. I think that the COMM department needs to make some updates regarding social media and modern technology. Other than that, my experience was great.
It was clean and nice. Nice staff they fixed things when needed. Pool wasn't up and running yet but that was okay.
