WAT FOO

I absolutely adore this area; it's always been a go-to spot for me! 🌳 There's a fantastic range of trails here, perfect for beginners and seasoned hikers alike. I love how easy it is to find a path that suits my mood and skill level each time. 😄 Plus, the plentiful parking makes it super convenient to visit any time I want. It’s definitely a place that keeps me coming back for more outdoor adventures!

This is a nice little hike in Palos Verdes, truly a hidden gem. The trails are short and sun exposed, but have great views of the Pacific Ocean and Catalina Island. I love that the trails are DOG FRIENDLY! But heads up, the beach down the hill is NOT dog friendly. There is a free parking lot for the trails and nature reserve but there is a fee to park down at the beach. The fee for the beach seems worth it; there’s some decent tide pooling if you catch the beach at low tide. It’s not too busy of an area, which is great if you need to get out of the city for a few hours!

Went for the trail, not too big. My route was three miles. It could possibly be a little longer. Nice info outside the center. I'm not sure if the center was open. I didn't see much activity there. It didn't look open. (Tuesday 10 am) Free parking right in the front. Not many people on the trail. Overall, it's a nice walk, i will come back looking at the website. They have guided tours and activities.

The parking in front of the education center is free and not many people parked there. Nice hiking trails and pretty chill and beautiful scenery. Very interesting history in San Pedro especially in the WWII era. Drop by the education center! Some interesting things to take a look at. Helen was very knowledgeable and friendly. The center used to be a missile building facility and the platform is a short walk away with the artillery battery remnant structures little further up.

The volunteer guide was amazing! Was a wealth if information and you could tell was very passionate. She showed us the plants to smell and taste 🙂 there are different trails starting very short, but little shade. One son loved the military history element, another liked the nature center, our daughter earned a patch from app game/treasure hunt...something for everyone !

Great place for a walk in spring, when all the color comes out. This old Nike missile site has been repurposed into a beautiful coastal park. There are public restrooms available and parking is free. There is a small Nature Center that has exhibits and history on the area. The trails around the area go through a wide variety of flowering plants in the spring and the coastal breezes make for a very pleasant afternoon.

The nature center is awesome. They have all kinds of interactive displays, books, stuffed animals, birds, lots of critters and plenty of information. Lots of information on the geology of the area as well. The preserve itself is rather small with only a few trails, but you can connect them to other trails to make it worth while. Check their calendar for Nature Center events/ talks/ walks. There's always something going on here.
