Angels Gate Cultural Center

Wow, I was really impressed with Angels Gate Cultural Center. It's so unique with the art studios housed in what looks like military barracks. I love that they took this military site and turned it into something really special. The art is interesting, the artists are engaging and the vibe is fun. The surrounding area is lovely right now (May) with all of the flowering wildflowers and park-like setting.

Everything about this place is amazing! The galleries, the hostels, the events..... Just a really cool venue with a neat history!

I’ve attended their family workshop and got lucky enough to attend their art gallery opening that was happening the same day. They are very community driven which I loved and I noticed right off the bat. I actually got invited by a friend to attend the event. My daughter and I got to make different structures out of newspaper. Then we went to the gallery to check out art pieces made out of recycled materials. Right after they unveiled a beautiful mural made by a group of teens that was part of another program. I mean how special was that?!? Just happen to stumble upon so much activity that day. Excited to go back to attend another family workshop. Thank you!

I enjoyed attending the OPAF6 art festival.

Family and I were there for Sound Pedro 2023. Festival was interesting, immersive, and fun. The Art Center is on a sprawling old military property with great views and a lot of spaces to explore. Wear comfortable shoes to walk in. In early June, we needed a sweater in the evening.

Absolutely breathtakingly. My son went to summer camp at Angel's Gate Park. I had no idea what a hidden gem this former military base is. There's a sea life rehabilitation center in it. The church visit this tiny fish first aid hub and get to watch as these animals get better. The basketball court that overlooks the ocean is a dream but it gets cold. The people who run this park are wonderful. Please check it out.
