Perched in San Bruno, Skyline College offers a scenic campus with strong academic programs and a welcoming atmosphere. The facilities are modern and well-equipped, with dedicated spaces for tutoring, career services, and student life. Staff are approachable and responsive, making it easy to get support whether you're a new student or preparing to transfer. The college emphasizes equity and inclusion, with programs tailored to diverse learning needs. Transfer pathways to CSU and UC schools are clearly outlined, and the campus hosts regular workshops to help students stay on track. The surrounding views of the Bay Area add to the appeal, and the community vibe makes it easy to connect with peers and faculty. Whether you're attending a class, joining a club, or meeting with an advisor, Skyline feels organized and student-centered

I do not recommend attending classes here. I graduated from a 4 year college on time and with no issues, but when I tried to take a few courses here it was non-stop registration issues. I registered for 3 courses and immediately paid the $695 fees so I wouldn’t get dropped but a few hours after paying that $695, a $17 fee was added on and I had no idea. Because I didn’t know about the $17 and therefore didn’t pay it, I was dropped from all the courses and only found out because I had a meeting with my counselor and he couldn’t see any of my classes. I tried to talk to multiple people for help on the situation and everyone but my counselor was absolutely no help and told me to get on the waitlists. After getting on the waitlists (waitlisted #4, #22, and #24) for classes that I was previously enrolled in, I was removed from all the waitlists with no email or any notice. The professors sent emails saying to show up the first day but I was removed from the waitlists before any of the classes even started. No one has been any help. This was the worst experience ever. 0/10 do not give your money to this school. Skyline college still has my $695.

I’m leaving this review to help future transfer students avoid the confusion I experienced. I proactively asked a counselor before enrolling whether a Computer Science course would count toward my UC transfer goals. Articulation was confirmed, but I was not informed that the course would not count toward financial-aid-approved units unless added to my SEP. That distinction was never explained, and it later caused serious issues with my financial aid status. Counseling and financial aid appear to operate in separate lanes, and students are left to discover critical details after the fact. My advice to future students: get written confirmation from both Counseling and Financial Aid before enrolling in any course that is not explicitly required for your major. The school may work for some, but for transfer-focused CS students who rely on financial aid, the lack of coordination and clarity made this a frustrating experience.

The track is open for public use if you're willing to brave the chilly February winds! Also, Parking Lot P has a COVID Clinic on site if anyone needs testing for travel and the like...

Let me tell you how I do love this college. It’s incredible!!! Last semester, I still believed that Skyline was a quite quiet college because students and staffs might be affected by the foggy and cold weather all the time. I wanted an active college where has very energetic generations of students. Since that ideas had popped up in my mind, I chose CSM for my first semester even though it takes me 20-30 minutes to get there while I drive to Skyline in 5 minutes. But in Spring 2020 semester, I wanted to try it out. I signed up 2 classes. First day at school, I have a lot of confusions about facilities and the system, but from students to staffs, all of them were super nice and friendly to help me out. I could grab whoever I met on my path, and they showed me very detailed information. My professors are awesome, too. Very kind and passionate. Overall, people here are not low energy like I thought before.

You will really love skyline college. It has the best atmosphere for learning and they really put students first. I have never really liked schools, but to say I liked my stay at skyline college is an understatement. I loved it. The teachers are all excellent and they have resources ready to go for all their students.

This review is for the counseling department only. I am a full-time working adult who has decided to dual enroll at Skyline and College of San Mateo, as both colleges have courses I am interested in while I figure out exactly which degree I would like to pursue. I applied for financial aid and Skyline decided to present me with the disbursement. It's now almost October and I have just recently been able to get a response a couple weeks ago from the financial aid department stating that I needed to speak with an academic counselor to receive my disbursement. (Note: it took almost a month to receive a response from financial aid via email, as every time I was able to call, I had to leave a voicemail and did not receive a phone call back.) Since this is my first time attending in this school district, and honestly, it has been quite a long time since I have tried to enroll in a community college outside of my area, I wasn't expecting this to be a requirement, but agreed so I could receive my financial aid. I couldn't figure out how to schedule an appointment online without any clear instructions, (the link provided sent me in a loophole where I still could not find where I needed to book an appointment,) and finally was able to find the number to call. When I called, I had to wait two days for an appointment at 6PM. I chose this time as I get off of work at 6PM. Yesterday I was waiting for this call and did not receive it. I called this counselor's number and went straight to voicemail. I emailed back and forth with the front desk of the counseling department and decided to call College of San Mateo to see if I could receive my financial aid through them instead. They did try to call me to schedule an appointment, but at this point I was still trying to find a solution to my problem through College of San Mateo. When I tried to call them back after hearing I couldn't get my financial aid through College of San Mateo, it went straight to voicemail. I emailed them stating I tried to call back but nobody picked up. They said they just tried to call but I did not pick up, so I tried calling again and they picked up. During this time, they scheduled me and cancelled me for a counseling appointment at 5PM for today, (Thursday,) within the span of 20 minutes of hearing my concerns. When I was finally able to speak to a person, I was able to re-confirm a 5PM appointment, although I did not want to do this since I would have to leave work early. I stressed to them that I have had to work more hours which has made my classwork suffer because I still have not received my financial aid. This morning, they cancelled the appointment AGAIN. I won't express my frustration beyond this review. I have been able to set the SEP through my first appointed counselor via email, so I am hoping this works so I can finally receive my financial aid. I am astonished at the unprofessionalism and lack of communication from the counseling department at this school. It almost feels like because I am a full-time employee, I am not treated the same as students who have more time to attend school and engage in their school activities. Update: Now the appointment for 5PM has been rescheduled!
