US Taekwondo Center Porter Ranch

Our two boys have been students for almost 2 years and they really enjoy it. Not only is Master Sunmi an incredible teacher who balances discipline and fun for her students, she also genuinely cares about them. Instructor Kim is also really great at engaging with and teaching the students. It's always so impressive how they know every child's name - and there a lot of them! We have been very happy with our experience at US Taekwondo.

We are having a great experience here. Our 5 year old joined since May-2025. He has really benefited from attending classes here. He listens better and pays more attention. He treats his practice seriously. Master Kim is funny and patient with kids, at the same time teaching them respect and discipline. Master Sunmi cares so much about the kids growth and safety. We are very lucky to have them both. It feels like a big family here. We hope to see him continue to thrive through his practice.

My son (6) and daughter (8) have been training with Master Sunmi and Master Kim for 5 months. They love coming here and get so excited for class. They are learning self respect, self control, self defense, discipline, the importance of a strong work ethic and a positive mindset. My hope is that all of these values will continue to grow with them throughout their childhood and then adult years. They are learning so much more than just taekwondo technique and their confidence and athleticism continue to grow each week. My daughter was even elected to represent her 3rd grade class in student council this year and I attribute a lot of her composure, confidence and personal growth to US Taekwondo Porter Ranch. My only wish is that they could go to class every day! We are so thankful for Master Sunmi and Master Kim -- they are the best and now I know why the waitlist is so long!

Our 8-year-old has been training at this Taekwondo school for over three years now, and she absolutely loves it! She’s made wonderful friends and really looks up to all the masters. There were a few times she almost wanted to quit, but she persevered—and we couldn’t be prouder that she recently earned her black belt! Now she’s excited to work toward her 2nd Dan. Over the years, we’ve seen tremendous growth in her kicks, forms, and confidence. Her 5-year-old sister joined this summer too, and it’s the sweetest thing watching them practice together in their uniforms. The little one just passed her yellow belt test, and we’re hoping she’ll follow her sister’s footsteps all the way to black belt. The masters are patient, encouraging, and truly know how to keep the kids motivated and engaged. The school has such a warm, family-like atmosphere. My only wish is that they could expand a bit to offer more class times—it’s that popular! When our 8-year-old first started, she was actually on a waitlist for a couple of months because this place is so in demand. We specifically wanted to enroll her at US TKD Porter Ranch because we wanted Master Sunmi to teach her—she’s amazing—and Master Kim is also fantastic. Our kids really love being taught by a woman master and a younger master who they can relate to.

Both Masters Sunmi and Kim are exceptional teachers. They balance strong expectations of focus and respect while also making it fun for the kids. They are especially patient with my very squirrely five year old. They know how to keep him engaged and when to challenge him to focus. He's grown a lot in the program. They are also very communicative about updates, schedule changes, and host several additional events. We love being a part of the program.

This is the third taekwondo school we’ve joined, and it’s definitely our favorite! The instructors are truly passionate and genuine, and their training program is outstanding. You can really see their dedication in how they teach and motivate the students. My son has improved so much since joining—his confidence, discipline, and skills have all grown noticeably. We’re so grateful to have found this place!

My 13-year-old daughter started training here less than five months ago, and we’re already so happy with the progress she’s made. She enjoys every class and is becoming more confident and focused. The instructors are patient, encouraging, and really great with kids. Highly recommend this Taekwondo school!
