Plymouth Mu Han Total Martial Arts

We heard about Muhan Martial Arts from a friend and decided to try a free trial class—and from that moment, there was no turning back. I honestly didn’t think my daughter would love it as much as she does, but she absolutely fell in love. She has always been a shy child who lacked confidence, and Muhan has brought out a level of confidence in her that has been incredible to watch. She’s always been a kind and respectful kid, but what Muhan teaches about respect, friendship, and family goes above and beyond anything we expected. The values instilled here are truly unmatched. Master Cushing is wonderful with the children. As a father himself, you can see his genuine passion for helping kids grow—not just in martial arts, but as people. He is patient, encouraging, and truly amazing with the kids. Every instructor we’ve encountered has been just as wonderful. My daughter recently participated in her first competition, and the way the instructors built her up and supported her made such a huge impact on her confidence. She was so hesitant to do it, now cannot wait for her next! The pride and excitement she felt afterward was priceless. She looks forward to going every single week. I’ve also watched so many other children—kids who aren’t even my own—grow in incredible ways, and I find myself cheering for all of them. Muhan Martial Arts truly brings the community together and has surprised us in the very best ways. We are so grateful to be part of it. Thank you, Muhan!

Plymouth Mu Han and Mu Han Total Martial Arts as a whole has been so cool, truly family-oriented and diverse. I’ve been with Plymouth Mu Han for the past year. I will say it has been fun-filled, challenging and motivating. The progress I have made in the past year is crazy. Never did I think I would be part of teams, participate in tournaments, nor start a journey towards Instructorship, but I have. I’ve literally never done any sports in my life but Mu Han has captivated me and has turned taekwondo into a new lifestyle. I am blessed to have become part of the Mu Han family. I am pride of my son for becoming a member of the little tigers. It took a few tries to get him on the mat and now he can’t wait to go. My husband and daughter will join in soon too! ✨🐲🥇

We have been going to Plymouth Mu Han for about a year for our 2 sons. Our kids have a great time and all the instructors are amazing. Most classes end with the instructors talking to the kids about respect & being kind to others. They do school vacation camps as well and my son raved about the games they played. Highly recommend!

Having practiced martial arts from the age of 12 well into my 20s, it has always been a deep passion of mine. So, you can imagine my excitement when my oldest son asked to start taking martial arts classes. I immediately began researching and visiting local schools, determined to find one that demonstrated professionalism, high standards, and quality instruction. When my son and I were invited to observe a class, we were both impressed—especially my son—by Master Cushing’s teaching style and the genuine respect his students showed for him and the art. We were invited to try a class the next day, and after that, we signed up without hesitation. It’s now been almost a year since we began, and I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I’ve made for both my son and myself. Master Cushing is the real deal: knowledgeable, professional, compassionate, and a highly skilled practitioner. His passion for teaching is undeniable, and his ability to connect meaningfully with each student is nothing short of remarkable. Before I even stepped into the dojang, he took the time to speak with me personally. He wanted to understand our goals—both mine and my son’s—and it was clear that he genuinely cared about helping us achieve them. My goal for my son was to improve his flexibility, coordination, and overall athleticism. He had already spent years in physical therapy, and I believed martial arts would help him build on that progress. My goal was simpler: to share an activity with my son that had once brought me so much joy. While the physical and mental benefits have certainly been fulfilling, what truly sets Mu Han apart goes far beyond technique or training. Mu Han is more than just a dojang—it’s a family. The support each member gives, both inside and outside of class, is authentic and profound. Regardless of age, skill level, or rank, every student cheers for, supports, and respects one another. This atmosphere of mutual respect is what truly earned my admiration for Mu Han. I can’t thank Master Cushing and my Mu Han brothers and sisters enough for the compassion, dedication, and encouragement they bring into the dojang every single day. Master Cushing, in particular, is far more than an instructor—he’s a mentor, a role model, and a friend to both kids and adults alike. I apologize for the length of this review. Truthfully, it is very hard to describe my experience in words. It’s something that one can only be there to see and feel it; trying to describe it in a review is akin to trying to catch smoke with your hands. You have to walk through those doors, you have to step onto the mat. Only then will you understand what I am trying to explain.

I have been a member of the Plymouth Mu Han School for just under a year and I truly see my instructors and classmates as family. It’s a supportive community that meets you were you are. I have done Martial Arts over the years and I can truly say this has been my best experience to date. The best part is I have lost over 25 pounds and I feel stronger and faster everyday. I try to come to class everyday! I highly recommend this school to anyone interested!!

For nearly three years, my son has been a student at Mu Han Attleboro. Last evening, we had the opportunity to visit their new location in Plymouth, MA, and we were delighted by the warm welcome and smooth transition for my son to jump into the class seamlessly. We are grateful to Master Cushing for making us feel right at home. Being a part of the Mu Han family continues to bring us great joy and satisfaction.
