This is an updated review. I've been taking Spanish classes with PLC for a year. The biggest change is that they changed locations as of Feb 2026 and now have a parking lot with free parking which is a total game changer. I started with zero Spanish knowledge. After a year, I can maintain a basic conversation. If you have zero Spanish, I recommend taking the weekly class. Even though the class is 90min, they cover alot of information. They do assign homework but it's up to you to do it. There's no tests and no grades, so you attend class because you want to learn. I've attended 8 months of weekly classes. I also took the in person intensive (2 days a week from 9am-12pm) which is a lot for 4 weeks. And I took in person immersive class (4 days a week from 9am-12pm) for 6 weeks- where I was exposed to so much Spanish- the description says it all. The teachers are pretty good and they have their own style. I have taken classes with Alex and he's excellent at teaching grammar. I have also taken classes with Francesca and she is excellent on focusing on pronunciation and having an authentic accent. There's also online Zoom class which is super convenient if you live far away. I recommend PLC for anyone that wants to start learning a language or start mastering a language. _____________________________________ This is a review for the medical Spanish class level 1. A session is 8 weeks. It's taught once a week for 90 minutes online in the evenings, so its perfect for those working during the day. My only knowledge starting the class was the Spanish alphabet which I learned from watching youtube. The level 1 class is perfect if you don't know any Spanish. The professor is very detailed and is very patient. She really focuses on pronunciation of the words and even though the class is online, the professor really gives you individual attention and opportunities to practice speaking. The class uses 2 books and pretty much follow the book. After class, the teacher gives some homework, not too much, just a little based on what we learned. On top of that, at the end of the 8 week course, you can take a test and get CME credit! I highly recommend this course for any medical professional that have Spanish speaking patients. The intro course has taught me the ability to say basic sentences and medical terms I may need to say to patients. I have started using what I learned with my regular patients.

I took the four week Spanish immersion course. Meeting four days a week really helped and the instructor was pleasant and kind. I had intelligent and motivated classmates. Pleasant atmosphere in charming Old Town Pasadena. I would recommend this language center to anyone.

My fifteen-year-old daughter has been taking private ASL lessons here on and off for several years. She has also taken French classes in the past. And while all the classes have been very good, it is the Zoom instruction of her ASL instructor that motivated me to write this review. The Zoom classes have been fantastic--creative, rigorous, fun. My daughter looks forward to her twice a week Zoom calls with Nancy, and enjoys her homework assignments, as well. Her ASL skills have really developed! Thanks to Nancy, Gina and the wonderful staff at PLC.

Decided I needed to know what my wife was yelling at me in Korean so I looked up language courses in Pasadena and gave these guys a shot. From the reviews, it’s not very informative but here’s my take: worth it. First, they are located above Patagonia on Union street so look for the elevator to the second floor. It’s tucked away past conference rooms and other small offices and feels like it’s in a hotel hallway. Inside it’s wall to wall classrooms with a small checkout desk in front. There are language books lining the wall too. I signed up and bought the necessary books to learn Korean and met up with the group class on Tuesday night. My Korean teacher was very patient and thoughtful in explaining sounds and pronouncements for me. I fully enjoyed the 1.5 hr class and look forward to keeping it up so I can finally understand my wife when she’s mad at me. Highly recommend this school.

To all foreign students who wish to enroll for an ESL course or other languages, I strongly recommend you to stay away from PLC. It is a 100% husband /wife private business, and it is poorly managed. They charge very high course tuition fees and in addition to books prices. As for progress result, I can assure you it is very slim to none. Unfortunately, many costumers were ripped off their money in different ways.

I took a beginner French class here. The teacher was so patient and attentive. The class sizes are small which is perfect for asking questions. The price was fair and better than most French classes I've seen around Los Angeles. I highly recommend the Pasadena Language Center for your language learning goals.
