Middle Georgia State University - Macon Campus

This school is a disaster. The financial aid office and pretty much most of the office employees are horrible. They can't do their job and are messing up people's lives because of their incompetence. Please go somewhere else if you care about your education, otherwise you're wasting your time here. They should have never been named a university. It's embarrassing to have wasted my time at this place.

I was wondering if I was the only person, but I see that the issue with prolonged delays on responses and being sent in circles is a common occurrence with MGA. I have been sent in full circles with 4 different offices to handle a simple hold on my account. It seems like there is no structure of any sort. I had to be connected with the assistant dean of admissions because somehow on an email thread with ALL of my information the admissions worker could not find the required information. Though in the SAME EXACT THREAD the assistant dean found everything required. It has been countless issue after issue from this institution and it is deeply disheartening to know its not a solitary incident. I have reported this to the GNPEC because as a federally and state funded institution this level of neglect is genuinely insane. At one point I was sent to the IT department and their helpdesk was down, I called admissions (as they were the ones who sent me there) and they told me to report the it issue to the helpdesk.... which was down.... I wish that I could complain to the university itself but I havent had any response since Dec 16th so

Pros: -great college professors overall -low costs -small class sizes -very good career and development center for students and alumni Cons -not much of a student life when compared to other universities -not much of a traditional college campus when compared to other universities -I wish there were more in person classes as opposed to online classes -some of the people working in the Registrars office are rude Overall: It’s a pretty good college if you like to save money.

Being raised in the city of Macon I've had honors of seeing the good, bad, and the ugly of Macon State College, now Middle Ga. State University is such a site to see as it blossoms into a Major University! This school will change the community and lives in this area for the better!

This school is a Scam please always look at what they bill you … The advisors will steer you in the direction for the school to make more money off of you. I have multiple examples and emails of me correcting "mistakes" they made on my billing. I only stayed till senior year because I transferred in as a sophomore. The lack of respect for you as a student is sickening. No one actually cares .. not the coaches, staff , anyone. Dorms are filthy hence why I’m online now and there’s a fee for EVERYTHING as soon as you step foot on that Cochran campus. If I could sue this school I would for many reasons, mold, scamming etc please go somewhere else.
