I had a very positive experience at the Consulate General of Korea in Los Angeles. The facility was clean, well organized, and efficient, which made the entire process smooth. The validated parking next to the consulate was very convenient and made the visit much easier. The consular representative who assisted me was extremely knowledgeable and patiently answered all of my questions. I also appreciated the availability of an on-site copy machine for document copies. I highly recommend filling out the required forms in advance by downloading them from the consulate’s website, as it will save you time.
Needed my visa done super quick (like half the allotted time) for my flight and the consulate workers explained to me how to ensure that my situation was figured out. The workers went above and beyond and I am SO grateful!!! Huge huge huge thank you to the folks who helped me — I can now go to Korea with no issues! Appreciate is SO much!
The Consulate General of Korea in Los Angeles is clean, efficient, and very convenient for handling government-related matters. There’s validation parking available next to the consulate, which makes the visit much easier. For document copies, coins are needed, but thankfully there’s a machine that exchanges bills for coins on site. I highly recommend making an appointment online in advance—it really speeds things up. Overall, a smooth and well-organized experience!
Had a pleasant experience here at the consulate. All the workers were knowledgeable, kind, and worked very efficiently. Make sure you come prepared with the necessary documents so you don’t have to make another trip out. I am certain that the man at window #7 is an angel descended from the heavens themselves. You can immediately feel that he wants whatever process you’re in there for to be successful and goes out of his way to do anything he can to help. He’s obviously been doing this for some time now because he has the answers to everything and communicates them in a clear and warm manner. I know you can’t choose which window you’ll end up in, but if it is indeed #7, consider yourself blessed.
Amazing how efficient they are. They gave me a number and the wait was like a minute! Then you can make copies, use a computer and printer, even get parking validation! For anyone complaining, you should try an embassy or consulate of any other country 😀 Korean efficiency!
I had to visit the Korean Consulate in LA five separate times from Irvine because each visit, I was told by a different staff member that I was missing something new—despite doing my research and calling ahead. The woman in window #5 (short hair, bob, glasses) was especially rude and dismissive. She sighed repeatedly, made sarcastic remarks about my multiple visits (which were caused by the consulate’s own inconsistent information), and treated me like an inconvenience rather than a visitor seeking help. My mother’s friend had the exact same negative experience with her a week later, so this seems to be an ongoing issue. This interaction left a very negative impression. It’s hard to understand why a public-facing employee in such an important role would treat visitors in a demeaning and impatient manner—especially when people often travel long distances for these services. The consulate should be a place where people can receive clear, consistent, and respectful guidance, not be made to feel like an inconvenience. I hope the consulate addresses the recurring issues with window #5. This is not the standard of service that should represent Korea or its government offices abroad. On a positive note, the woman in window #6 was professional, friendly, and clear in her communication. I’m very grateful for her patience and thoroughness.
It's been a long time since I visited the Korea Consulate General. I had not a good memory whenever I visited the Korean government office in Korea , even in the US. This time, I realized I had have a bad prejudice about it. They were very kind, professional and helpful to solve the old personal matters. I thank very much specially to Mr. Hosung Cho, Consul and Ms Munju Park, staff for their professional services and responsibilities.
