English Language Program UNF

The ELP program at UNF was such a meaningful experience for me. I studied level 5 in Fall 2025. The classes were fun, practical, and helped me improve my English quickly. My class was also very enjoyable, and I made friends from Japan, Qatar, Brazil, and Colombia. I’m truly grateful for Mrs. Alexi and Mrs. Susan. They are warm, caring, and amazing teachers who made me feel supported and confident every day. Because of them, I feel much stronger in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. I highly recommend this program to anyone who wants to grow in a positive and friendly environment.

The English program at ELP is great. There, I improved my English, made many new friends, and learned many new things from different cultures. At ELP, everyone is very friendly and nice. Moreover, every semester we get to participate in many different activities and visit many places in Florida.🥰🥰 I am grateful about that, and i love ELP ❤

I love English Language because we can meet people from different countries! At our school, we also value American events, and we all go to Halloween and Universal Studios together.

Wonderful school! They are helpful, super professional, and very serious. The course is very demanding, which is great because you will undoubtedly leave with your level of English much more advanced than when you started. I definitely recommend it to everyone. And besides, the college is beautiful; the city is charming.

Upon graduating UNF in the spring of 2016, I attended the TEFL certification program that was offered through the ELP program. The TEFL is 120 credit hour certification (Teaching English in a Foreign Language) for those looking into teaching English abroad. Before starting the program, I always had an interest meeting people from other countries and learning about other cultures. While attending UNF, I befriended lots of exchange students from South Korea, Japan, and China. I also really liked that the ELP had an annual 1 month exchange program with students from Kyungnam University and Changwon University. I would always meet lots of friends from South Korea and this peeked my interest in hopes to visit that country one day. So through a mutual friend of mine named Lorelei Rogero, she told me about the ELP program and that she got her certification before graduating in 2015. So I decided to do the same and then moved to South Korea to teach English. I started my teaching career in South Korea in the fall of 2016. I’ve been living in South Korea for about 6 1/2 years now. I’ve taught elementary for two years and kindergarten for four years. During my time in the ELP program, all of the instructors gave me a lot of helpful teaching materials/resources/advice/constructive criticism/lectures/ways to improve lesson plans focused on teaching English as a secondary language. I also really enjoyed how I was given a chance to teach mock classes with their ELP students and be able to find out right away which age group was best suited to teach for me. Another good thing is once you receive certification, it never expires so that was another aspect I really appreciated! Another thing is they tell you about all of the possible countries you can go to teach English whether it be for short term or long term and even compared the pay scale for each country. But I always had my heart set on South Korea from the very beginning because of all of my friends. The ELP really helped encourage me to step out of normalcy I was used to in the US. I even met my future husband while teaching in Korea. I owe it all to the ELP program for being my stepping stone path to which lead me to where I am today. I highly recommend to anyone who is thinking of investing to become an ESOL/TESOL/TEFL teacher that you definitely should inquire them about being apart of their program!!! Definitely worth the money and time!!! It’s a very successful program!!!!

ELP is a place amazing to learn English. The teachers are the best. I have improved my English a lot. Additionally, the activities with native people are excellent to practice.
