Hansoo Tae Kwon Do: Korean Martial Arts

We have been going to Hansoo tae Kwon do for almost 2 years. The owner Laila treated all the kids just like her own, super nice and caring. My boy really loved the class, it is a perfect mix of learning and fun. They also have very flexible class schedule and arrangement, which meets our family schedule and needs very well. Highly recommended!

I have been to martial arts classes at many dojangs in the Hartford area over the past 15 years and many were fine, but Han Soo is the best. They teach the fundamentals at all levels, they provide instruction that breaks elements into do-able pieces, they inspire growth in the martial arts and in life and they embody the integrity and humbles they have spouse to us. A great community and excellent instruction!

Our son has been attending for about 2 years. His self-esteem and physical capabilities of improved and he really has a lot of fun!

We are located in Haddam so there are definitely closer options for us . I found Hansoo via google as I was looking for a tae kwon do class for our 4 year old who has autism . We are so grateful for Master Chasse. My son is overwhelmed by large groups so we have him in semi private classes with our two year old and it has been amazing . Any parent of a child who with different needs has likely experienced two sides of a spectrum … either somebody just does not have the patience to work with your child or the opposite end they hear they have a diagnosis and don’t hold them accountable for anything …. Master Chasse meets our children at their level and holds them accountable. He earns their respect by example. He has a self scoring system at the end of the class that I thought would be over my boys heads but after the last class our two year old for the first time got "could do better " in the area for body control and he was talking about it all evening …. He is a very confident child so this correction was very important for him . My other son to the contrary is more critical of himself and has left every class saying "Master Chasse said good job ". I love how he meets every child at their level . It’s an amazing experience and I highly recommend this school !

My kids and I started at Hansoo TKD this past year and it's been a great experience. The instructors are positive and encouraging, and we've learned so much in our short time there. Highly recommend, if you are considering Taekwondo!

My son has been going here for almost 4 years, and he loves it. Mr. Chasse has an incredible way of getting and keeping the attention of even the most problem children. He's serious about the art, and you can tell that he is in it more for the love of the art than just because it's a decent job for him. Also, important to me, I would not consider this a belt factory like I've heard of from so many other parents and I've seen from my son's previous TKD experience. My entire family had since started here and we're not disappointed. The fitness and mindfulness you learn here as an adult are just as life-changing as the focus that you students experience.

The instructors are amazing! The instructors do a great job of teaching taekwondo and giving the kids confidence and focus. They are amazing with my kids.
