I am incredibly grateful for the instruction and mentorship I received at U.S. Aviation Academy from Jameson Oldham and Charles Lotz while earning my Instrument Rating. Their professionalism, depth of knowledge, and genuine dedication to student success made a challenging and demanding process both manageable and rewarding. Together, Jameson and Charles created a supportive yet disciplined training environment that challenged me to grow every flight. Their commitment, attention to detail, and genuine investment in my success were instrumental in helping me earn my Instrument Rating. I couldn’t have asked for better instructors, and I highly recommend them to any pilot looking to advance their skills and confidence in instrument flying.

Training at US Aviation Academy was a good experience overall. The program was organized and the instructors were professional. Some of the airplanes needed work, and scheduling could be slow at times. Still, training stayed on track once flights got moving. Andrew Mettler was my CFI for private. He was consistent, clear, and pushed me to finish. The school has room to improve, but the right instructor makes it worth it

I had an outstanding experience completing my commercial pilot training at this flight school. The instructors were truly top-notch—knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely invested in my success. They challenged me to fly to commercial standards while still being patient and supportive every step of the way. I received my Private Pilot License, Instrument Rating, and my Multi-Engine at USAA! I was so impressed by the professionalism and passion for flying that was exhibited by every instructor I flew with. Sevie La Roche was my instructor from my first hour to instrument checkride. In my current pilot training course, I have been complimented repeatedly on how broad my experience is. Sevie did an incredible job exposing me to different fields, unusual approaches, and the most varied and rare instrument approaches he could find. His positivity and the faith he had in me as a new pilot truly were the only things that kept me going on some of my harder days. His love for teaching and all aspects of aviation shine through in everything he does. John Van Dixhorn was my multi-engine instructor. When I couldn’t get my mind wrapped around a specific concept, John literally spent hours not only trying to figure out how to teach me, but really focusing on how I learned. He possesses a rare talent which allows him to identify his students’ strengths and weaponize them against their weaknesses. In a time in my flying career that made me feel unintelligent and inadequate, John not only taught me the concepts I was struggling with, he helped me really fall in love with general aviation. Jaden Martin, Nolan Lanza, and Andrei all also worked incredibly hard to educate and enrich every student they interacted with. My time at US Aviation will always be a cherished blip on my career timeline.

I have been attending to US aviation for just over 2 months, and I am almost done with PPL. I have met incredible people, and have had great instructors like: Jameson Oldham, Nicholas Stacey, and Luke Velas. They have been great, Jameson has helped me a lot! He is a great guy, a great CFI, and he has incredible teaching skills. He has given me such good advice and I have learned, and improved a LOT thanks to him. Nicholas taught me how to fly and he was great! He had tips for everything and he always supported me when I needed help. I have had few flights with Luke, but the few times we have been in the plane he has helped me a lot because he gives me a new perspective of things, and has great patience.

I've done all my training here at US Aviation Academy, and would absolutely recommend it to anyone who wants to turn flying into a career. Prices are fair, and the instructors are professional, and create a great environment for any student to learn and thrive. I have had the pleasure of flying with Trevor Harvey for my CFI course, and he is an excellent instructor, and shows up every day with enthusiasm and makes the flying enjoyable, no matter the circumstances. I also had Ben Balman for my commercial course. He was an amazing instructor who was very helpful and shows a passion for his students' success.

While I was trying to look up a specific address in Denton, I came across the address of US Aviation Academy, which brought back memories of when I completed my primary flight training there before continuing my training in Laughlin as an international pilot. Overall, the academy was very good, but unfortunately I had a bad experience with one of the instructors, who was a former soldier and, to some extent, showed racist behavior. I also will never forget a particular incident at the reception desk, when I was speaking quietly with my Arab student friend, only to be suddenly interrupted by an American employee who loudly told us that this was America and that we were not allowed to speak another language, before quickly returning to her desk.
