Lone Star College - Conroe Center

Nice campus! As far as community colleges go, Lone Star always surpasses others. The facilities are very well taken care of, the library is tiny but cozy and quiet, the workshops for machining class are awesome. As far as classes and staff goes, everyone is different so it would take forever to review them all. But overall I've always gotten pretty good service and good professors

Good things: As far as teachers, it depends on who you pick, of course (so look them up!). Everyone I met at Conroe Center is nice and set you up for success. Those in disability are great and want you to succeed. You just got to put in the work. Also, the work runs smoothly if you know how you operate. Every space is cleaned after every use. Tutors, when they are there and not busy, are helpful. If you want a guaranteed time to get help, schedule with them. Math is harder to walk into and get help more than Write Place seems to be. Bad things: My issue is the environment outside of the timed cleaning. There's not much food or drinks around in the kitchen (more drinks than food most times), venting machines are hit or miss on if they are working (they fill them up tho pretty okay). The real issue is the mold smell. I am sensitive and even allergic to mold and went through trauma with it - I can smell the mold in the paper towels. When I first arrived, only the back disablility-focused bathrooms had moldy ones, but that changed to all of them. Its so bad now that when I used them, I got a headache from it - which doesn't go away without a day-long fight. All of the paper towels (even in the kitchen) need to be thrown out and replaced with new paper towels, as well as more food and drinks being put out. It helps us focus and get energy when we have things to make us feel awake, and when there's none, then we're not as efficient in our college work. We're college students. We can't always grab something from the machines. This is why I rated so low. If issues are forever fixed, rating will be 5 stars 🌟!

It was easy to register a first time student. The orientation very helpful. Jennifer in advising was great to help with residency requirements. Cost of the college is very reasonable.

The Conroe center is great. They do their best to get things done for you and they do it fast. The teachers are awesome and of the staff is great. As far as Veterans Affairs good luck. The Conroe center can't help with that and its a slow process. Its better to just call Veteran Affairs direct then to speak with the representative on the Montgomery Campus.

This is the listing for the actual college, but someone has totally messed up the description and made it for the bookstore. The campus is relatively new and we'll equipped. The instructors aren't Harvard level, but you'll get your money's worth. All in all, a great place to learn.

Great experience. I’m judging based off of several, not just one, good experiences I’ve had in all the departments. Very convenient place to have the college placed here! Despite the negative comments, I’d give this place a FAIR shot by not judging it based on one experience.

Best Junior college I have ever gone too. They actually care about helping you and they do it in a timely manner. Online access is super easy (I am an online student, but go to campus for tuturing and such) and so much stuff is offered to your needs. Also, all if not most credits are transferable too Sam Houston State.
