The price could be better for what you get. They have many activities but some activities aren’t included in the membership for example like rock climbing, it’s extra. In order to use the 24 hr gym membership you have to pay extra. It also seems like the whole building needs to be updated and the gym itself is kinda small.
I want to preface this review by saying that my use of the amenities has been limited, so I can only speak to what I’ve personally experienced. I haven’t had a single bad experience here. It’s very beginner-friendly (I just recently got back into working out after like a 2 year break), and everyone has been clean (i.e., cleaning their machines when done) and courteous. The employees are friendly, and there’s a wide variety of things you *can* do at this Y if you want to take advantage of it. Personally, I mostly just use the gym equipment (e.g., treadmill, etc.) for now, but they offer an extensive list of classes that look really interesting, I just haven’t attended one yet. From what I’ve seen, the facility is kept clean and well-maintained. Their communication is excellent if you have the app or are subscribed to text alerts. For example, if the pool is closed, you’ll get an immediate notification so you don’t make the trip only to find it unavailable. They also have an express 24-hour gym that you can add for $5 a month (I have yet to go mostly because I just find it easier to go to the main Y, but that is an option if you have hours that conflict with the main Y's). I’ll update this review in a couple of months—hopefully by then I’ll have tried out more of the amenities. For now, though, I definitely recommend this YMCA.
My son Bhaskar recently went in for a personal training session with Josh Noa, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Josh is an incredibly humble and passionate trainer with a truly unique way of teaching and motivating others. His lessons are always meaningful, and he takes the time to provide thorough fitness evaluations to understand each client’s level and needs. What started as just one trial session has now become his 20th session, and he has no plans of stopping—because the results have been absolutely mind-blowing. My son is hooked! Josh’s energy, positivity, and constant smile make every session enjoyable and inspiring. We need more people like you in this world, Josh. And thank you to the Y for giving opportunities to dedicated young professionals like him.
Very nice newer YMCA with several cariovascular options. Good amount of weight lifting options as well. Wonderful aquatics center with several swim lanes. Also has a 30' indoor climbing wall and a dry sauna. Wonderful locker room, yet showers tend to run cold. You push a button to activate the water then it goes on forever. Two very nice studios and a bike studio as well. Great place and well worth the visit.
I have never been to a yoga class before. I just do videos at home usually. Everyone was warm and inviting and Joe is very welcoming and a great instructor. It was fun and I didn't feel safe conscious at all. Thanks very much!
There is a patron who appears to follow women around filming them with his glasses—e.g., getting on a rower behind a woman on the elliptical and filming. This happens in front of staff, who seem unprepared to notice or intervene. Him: white, 50s, short white hair and trim mustache/beard, average height/slim build, and glasses. —— Follow up: I emailed you full details of incidents days ago (to one of the recommended contacts), and I received NO RESPONSE FROM YOU. There is no sign that you take sexual harassment and invasion of privacy on your premises seriously.
Been going here on and off for years. The staff is always super friendly, the kid area is super well ran, and the classes are fantastic. I don't think I've had a single bad experience. My kids have done swim lessons, karate, climbing wall, basketball, and spent a lot of time in the childcare. I've used the machines and gone to several of the fitness classes.
