Main Library

Words can not explain how much I love the library. I used to be the kind of person who would not read books or even touch books at any library because I thought books were boring, but I am reformed. I love the U of I library system. There are just so many kinds of books and video games here. It's a treasure trove of delights! When you request books/media to purchase for the library, they will 9.9/10 times buy it as long as the request is reasonable and not uber expensive. Not to even start mentioning the technology loan, the computer lab, and the main stacks that they have here.

The main library on the U of I campus is superb. The building itself is impressive but the collection is what makes it one of the best in the country. I love hanging out in the Orange Room, teaching my class on Zoom, and just being a part of the intellectual vibe of a big university.

Great building and wonderful service

The UIUC library is outstanding. It offers technology (and help with how to use it) and has every book you could ever want or need. I'm a graduate student and use the library religiously. Also, the librarians are so thoughtful and are extremely kind even when I am checking out about twenty books at one time.

I am routinely disappointed by the lack of professionalism on behalf of the university administration's decision making, regarding the ongoing construction. It is distracting. Considering the extreme high tuition that is being charged for this university I would expect the facilities people to have this work done outside of normal business hours. This is not a library, it is a construction site. Like the rest of the university campus, it would be beautiful were it not, in reality, consumed by diesel fumes and backup beepers of construction equipment.
