Golden Harbor Authentic Chinese Cuisine

We visited during dinner time and there's no line for table. There's self-order kiosk for easy ordering. We ordered several dishes including the Bok-choy with fresh garlic, The signature crispy tofu (my favorite), Fried fish fillet, and Sesame chicken. Rice included for some dishes we ordered, which was convenient. Our food arrived quickly, so we didn’t have to wait long at all. The atmosphere was quite calm and easy to talk. The restroom was relatively clean. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience with friends.

my review, I opted for the soy beef Ramen, a classic dish that I was eager to evaluate. They successfully executed the dish, with a delectable soy garlic broth infused with subtle hints of garlic, lemon grass, and green onion. The beef was tender and juicy, imparting a flavorful taste that was almost melt-in-your-mouth. The Ramen noodles were cooked to perfection, contributing to the overall satisfying experience. I will certainly try your recommendation for tofu. During my next visit, the shrimp dumplings were satisfactory, lacking any extraordinary qualities.

Very good flavor and a lot of variety in the choices. There is a fairly decent selection of vegetarian dishes available and that makes the experience much better for me. The teas are hot and strong, water or fountain drinks are an option. Most patrons are greeted at the door and shown a menu. There are a nice selection of table sizes for various groups that can be chosen by people in less busier times to find their own table. Wait times are short and portions are quite good. The overall appearance is clean and neat and generally pleasant.

One of the best Chinese spots in Champaign, with a massive menu that covers just about every flavor profile and protein you could want. We had the pork belly with bamboo shoots, lamb with tofu skin, crispy tofu, and squid stir fry, and everything was consistently flavorful and comforting. I also appreciate the upfront ordering and self-serve setup for utensils and tea. A campus favorite I’ll keep coming back to whenever I’m in town.

Having a trip to the US, I was so in the mood for General Two Chicken. Sorry, not exciting, I know. But, after checking around places in the Urbana area, I found the GenTso picture on their website looked legit. It turned out they have two kinds of GenTso. Chinese style and American style. Many of the other dishes on the menu looked good too. I settled for the Chinese style. I added the Taiwanese Fried Chicken, the Mala Fish Boiled and Pork Bun. Yeah, that was too much. The portion was huge. The GenTso delivered! It was pretty good. Not too sweet, not too gingery, not too spicy, and extra crispy. Add the chilly oil, kaboom!!! The Taiwanese style chicken was pretty good too. The boiled fish by itself was bland. It's nice and flaky though. But if you eat it together with the pickled vegetables and bean sprouts, they give the needed flavor and texture. I haven't tried the bun yet. There was too much food. So, food wise, easily a 4-star. I may try other dishes and bump it. It was that good. Is it really a 5-star? For a American style Chinese Restaurant,... Yesses... It is way better than most Chinese takeout. It's self service, so I'm not going to give it a two for that.

One of the best Chinese places in town. They have a million options for meals for you to order. They make your orders at lightning speed!!!! The staff here are very nice. The portion here is very massive!!!! The atmosphere is very Chinese. It also comes with oolong tea and jasmine tea you can drink with no cost. Overall, this place is very good!!!!

Simply the best authentic Chinese food in the region, to be honest. We can go to Chicago, Indy, or just about anywhere on the east coast and nothing compares.. we really are lucky here in central Illinois! Prices have gotten a little high, but still happy to pay for top tier dishes with generous portions.
