Fluent City

I took French 1, 2 & 3 at the WIlliamsburg location and it was a fantastic experience. My teachers were fun, creative and down to earth NY residents. I met other cool people in class and it was an awesome learning environment! I spoke some phrases over the years and tried to learn with apps and online classes but being in the classroom, fumbling through pronunciation with other aspiring Francophone's was are far better learning experience. When I felt unsure after French 2, both my teachers encouraged me to press on and I felt myself grow in the next level. I just returned from France last month and had a blast using my new skills. Highly recommended.

I loved my Italian 1 class with Marco. Marco is a great teacher. Each class was informative and fun. What's nice about learning in a class environment is you are forced to practice short dialogue each class, which is the best way to get comfortable with a language . The other important part is you have someone to ask your questions. Whether its to clarify something like pronunciations or to learn some of the cultural aspects of the language. I am enrolled in Italian 2 now and am looking forward to it.

I looked forward to my Spanish I class every Monday. Michael was an excellent teacher and managed students' varying abilities like a champ. Even outside of the classroom, I found myself listening to Spanish language radio and puzzling out newspaper articles for new vocabulary words. In addition to the language skills, I felt the class was also a great way to meet people after work. Our group got along well and several of us met up outside of class to practice more.

I took the twice-weekly French 1 class and had an awesome time. The teacher (Sam) was excellent; the vibe is casual but pushes you to take the lessons seriously; maybe best of all, the students come from all walks of life and make a very interesting room of people to talk to! Learning a new language here (or brushing up on an old one) is a great use of your time.

I completed my first Fluent City course, Spanish 6, with Andrés. It was a fantastic experience and he was an excellent instructor who cared that I was making the best use of my time and I had a great time interacting with him and the material. He was willing to engage all forms of discussion on grammar and culture and brought in materials specifically to match our interest from week to week.

I have thoroughly enjoyed and learned a ton with Fluent City. I took Spanish 1 and then because my teacher, Victor, was so great, I stayed on for Spanish 2, also with Victor. His linguistics background made him the perfect language teacher and I appreciated that he would teach us regional national variations of words and phrases so we could be as effective with our Spanish as possible.

I just finished Spanish 1 and I loved every minute of it. My teacher, Victor, was so great— he kept things relevant by showing us YouTube videos, teaching us songs, and even making us food for the food/ordering lesson! There were games for every lesson to help you practice the grammar patterns which made it not only useful, but fun. I’m already looking forward to Spanish 2!
