Pink Soda - Luxury Blow Dry Bar & Hair Salon West Hartford, CT

Very disappointing experience at Pink Soda Salon. During my lightening service, my hair was severely over-processed and burned. The stylist did not inform me about the damage and instead used heavy gel/wax to hide the breakage so I wouldn’t notice at the salon. I only discovered how damaged my hair was after I got home. Large sections were brittle and breaking off. When I contacted them, they refused to take responsibility or offer a refund, blaming a waiver instead of addressing the negligence. I would not recommend this salon. Clients deserve honesty and transparency.

Gigi did such an amazing job with my hair! The first pic is immediately after and the second is several hours later after the curls settled into place. My hair feels super soft and healthy. It looks so good for the wedding I’m going to tonight. This was my first time at Pink Soda and I would highly recommend booking with Gigi. She’s super talented and kind! My hair is super long and thick and she did a great job with it.

After finishing, she used heavy gel/wax to press my hair down and hid the damaged sections so I wouldn’t notice. When I got home and washed my hair, I discovered multiple areas were severely over-processed and chemically burned. My hair felt stiff, dry, and started breaking. When I contacted the salon, they refused to help or offer a refund because of the waiver — and then blocked me instead of handling the situation professionally. Very unprofessional and dishonest. I would not trust them with chemical services.

Jazmine did a great job with my half updo. I got it in the morning and it held all through a sweaty night of wedding dancing. She was also very bubbly and friendly.

I came to get a wash and blow dry with Gigi and she did such a wonderful job. Her wash was so relaxing and she made sure it was clean from any buildup - as I do get buildup from all my curly hair products. She did a great job with my blow out and added the curls I wanted just perfect for my sisters Baby shower . I’ll definitely be returning to see her! Ask for Gigi😍

Ugh! I wasn’t sure if I should actually post this, I am doing it as a favor for people that have my hair type (long,wavy, thick) of course I booked the option that says "master hairstylist" or something like that because I never ever care of paying more, I’ve been there in the past before they change location and I always loved loved the results, but today …I am truly disappointed of how my hair looks, I’m actually fixing it myself. I paid almost $100 and spent 1hr plus just for me to redo my hair?, I’m not trying to put no one in the spot so I’m not gonna mentioned names, my hair looks terrible, frizzy, baby hair still curly 😭, tangled!!!!!!!! I am not writing this review to try to get money back because honestly I’m not even mad about it it’s just the wasting time and the disappointment of booking w someone that is supposed to be a master for all hair type and not getting that, And Mind you she was actually really polite and nice THIS IS NOTHING AGAINST HER AS A PERSON. But if you have my hair just think twice of paying West Hartford prices for you just not getting the results you want.

I scheduled an appointment for a wash, blowout and formal updo. I arrived on time, but the stylist was not available and she took me between 15 and 20 minutes late. She started immediately styling my hair. I reminded her that I had booked a wash and blowout as well. She then took me to wash my hair, she used a single product to wash my hair. So maybe it was a two and one or shampoo only. I showed her pictures of a half up and half down Hairstyle, I would like to have. It was very similar to what I had for my wedding. She didn’t give any indication that she would have difficulty with the style. She did a blowout, and then she began curling my hair. I thought it was strange that she kept pulling down on the curls while they were still hot after curling them. After about 20 minutes of that she told me that my hair was not able to be curled. That my hair wasnt the type for the style. I told her that I had had my hairstyle many times in the past and it’s not an issue. I showed her recent pictures of my hair styled with curls. I have waist length, natural/untreated hair. I offered her the technique to curl my hair, pin it up while it’s cooling and spray it with hairspray. Then once the Hairspray had dried, and the curl had cooled, then released the curl and it will hold. She did not take my advice. I asked her if maybe someone else could curl the other side of my head since we started to run short on time. She ignored the request. In the end, the style looked nothing like the pictures, and didn’t even look presentable. The Bobbie pins were all visible, not hidden at all. It was asymmetric, with one side of my head flat from the front, and the two twists in the back were very uneven. She said the style didn’t look like the pictures because of the nature of my hair. She offered to revise the curls, but at that point it was too late and I had to leave for the wedding rehearsal. Plus the symmetry of the shape of the style wouldn’t have been fixed by just touching up the curls. I got home and the entire style began falling apart. It was awful. I made a phone call to pink soda to tell them what happened. They told me they did no refunds. I hadn’t asked for one yet. I did then tell them I would post a review with pictures. Michele asked me to send her the pictures. Which I did. There was no response. I paid $104 for the style in the photo. I ended up going back on our way to the wedding rehearsal, I asked them to take out all the bobby pins and then I brushed out my hair. A different stylist took out my bobby pins and apologized for the hairdo. I redid my hair on my own in the lobby of the hotel.
