I began going to this salon about a year and some change ago, and initially my experience was very positive. I had hair extensions installed, and at that time my stylist custom-toned my hair to match the extensions perfectly. I was very happy with the results. About four months later, I decided to switch to a different texture that would better match my natural hair so I wouldn’t have to blow-dry as often. When I scheduled this appointment, I specifically requested the exact same extensions as before so my toner would still match. The salon failed to inform me that they did not have those extensions in stock. Instead of consulting me, they used platinum blonde extensions and toned them to appear similar to my original set—without my knowledge or consent. Within about a week, it became obvious that something was wrong. My extensions were extremely platinum blonde against my warm, neutral-toned hair. I voiced that I was very unhappy. I also asked for the extensions to be rooted for a more natural blend. When my stylist attempted this, the roots turned pink—literally pink. This was now my second visit trying to correct an issue I did not create. After another month of still being unhappy—and still unaware that these were not the extensions I originally requested—the salon finally admitted via text message that they had used platinum blonde extensions and colored them to resemble my prior ones. I reiterated that this was not what I wanted and that my goal was low-maintenance hair like I previously had. They then offered to replace the wefts free of charge, which I felt was fair given the circumstances. When I returned, the new set still looked off. I was told the owner would come over personally to ensure I was satisfied before installation. Despite making eye contact with me multiple times and seeing that I was visibly upset, she never approached me. I left the salon in tears, trying not to cause a scene. I later texted requesting removal because the extensions were again not what I asked for and were causing me actual distress. At that point, I was spoken to in a condescending manner and was told the salon would no longer work with me—after I had spent over $2,000. I was essentially told to find another salon to deal with the hair they installed. I contacted three different salons. Two refused to work on the hair altogether. The third attempted to lowlight the extensions to correct the platinum tone I never wanted. During this process, the hair began disintegrating due to being so over-processed. I ultimately had to cut my losses and purchase entirely new extensions. Ironically, the best thing this salon did for me was part ways with me. The new salon achieved exactly what I wanted in a single visit. My extensions are now beautiful, properly matched, and healthy—without the coarse, over-processed "horse hair" feel I was left with previously. If I could give zero stars, I would. I was never anything but polite. If advocating for what I paid for made me "difficult," so be it—I spent between $6,000–$7,000 over the course of a year and expected professional transparency and quality. Instead, I was allowed to walk out looking terrible, with an extension row placed so high it was shocking. When my new salon saw the work, they were appalled that the owner of an extension line would allow a client to leave looking like that. My advice: unless you are sitting directly in the owner’s chair, do not expect the level of service or quality being advertised. I have included photos of how I left the salon, as well as how my new extensions look now from a different salon. The "before" photo was taken approximately three weeks after installation ant Jovi and after only two washes. The after is my hair naturally dried and with my new installation. Couldn’t be happier.

After having my first curly cut done in NYC, I knew I wanted to find a new salon to take care of my wild mane here in Virginia Beach. Katie was absolutely amazing and brought my hair back to life! She was super friendly and involved with keeping me up to date on the newest regimens that would work best with my hair type and lifestyle. I highly recommend to anyone in the area!

They gave incredible communication and explain everything step in detail. I have had a couple haircuts in preparation for extensions that I will get in October. I absolutely love coming to the salon and feel so welcomed. It feels very professional and organized and I appreciate the extra time they take to make their customers feel welcomed and comfortable. Update: So I literally went from a curly pixie cut to these beautiful long wavy extensions! It was an amazing experience from start to finish. Rachel is a true hair genius and Katie is amazing at getting these curls right!

Amber was my specialist today, and she was truly outstanding. I came in feeling a little nervous and unsure of how to explain the exact style I wanted, but she immediately put me at ease. She deciphered what I was struggling to describe to her and walked me through what she thought would best suit my texture and preferences. The end result is perfect ✨. My cut looks like an even better version of what I was initially envisioning! I’m beyond happy with my cut and left the chair feeling excited and grateful! The front desk staff deserves a shoutout too! They are incredibly kind, welcoming, and accommodating. Every question I asked was met with sincere care and patience. I will 100% be returning and have already started recommending this salon to friends and strangers. Thank you for such a great experience!

Absolutely lovely experience. The atmosphere is the best I’ve ever experienced in a hair salon. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Madeline was my hair stylist and she was incredible. She understood exactly what I wanted and absolutely delivered. She’s my favorite hair stylist I’ve had. Highly recommend - especially if you want color!

Jovi is by far the most welcoming salon I have ever been to. The atmosphere is colorful and inclusive. While the staff is friendly, knowledgeable in their craft, and clearly take pride in what they create. Rachel, one of the incredible owners and the creator of Cutie Heads Extensions, has been doing my hair since 2015, and I could not have asked for a better stylist. Her attentiveness and drive to go beyond to create magic for each of her clients is unmatched. Each step of the process is discussed prior and has plenty of price options to create your vision.
