Hair By Huy

I’ve been going to Huy for the last 4-5 years and I can’t imagine going to anyone else. He’s the only stylist I can trust with my hair. He gives great feedback and opinions on what would look good and what is feasible. Going lighter with Asian hair has always been a challenge for me until I found Huy. His work is the only one that wouldn’t leave a brassy tone. I live a bit farther away from his salon now than I did 4-5 years ago, but it is always absolutely with the drive out. Truly a matter of his craft.

Huy is an amazing colorist and a super trustworthy, honest professional! I have gone to him for balayage twice now and each time it has turned out beautifully. This past time, I hadn’t returned after six MONTHS, and the color was unchanged because of a technique he recommended to me the first time instead of having to bleach my hair. Some people out there may not have been completely upfront off the bat about that what I wanted would be super damaging to my hair type and take much more maintenance than I was willing to do or could afford. I totally appreciate that he is very honest about expectations and will be completely upfront if he doesn’t think the outcome will turn out well for you, because it’s very important to him that his clients are happy with how their hair turns out (even if that means he loses out on hundreds more dollars in extra services like bleaching hard to bleach hair and constant touch ups.)

I’ve been a customer of Huy for 4 years (photos are from two different times)! He’s the only one I’d trust with my hair. He’s always so thorough and attentive with every single strand, even if it means spending hours on my super dark hair. Truly a master at his craft!

I found Mr. Huy super knowledgeable about the products he was using. I came to him for a Brazilian Blowout and he literally made miracles, as he had never tried this on my type of hair which is thin, long and extremely curly and tangles very easily. He was brutally honest and advised me that the process may not work. Before making an appointment, I did research articles that featured my type of hair and some did not work. But I also researched Huy’s 30+ year journey and all of his works of art and decided I would place my bet for the best outcome on Huy. Together, we would learn the outcome and it was quite amazing! Huy has been doing my hair for 2 years, since I moved to California. I had to get my hair done elsewhere because our schedules didn’t match and I was working far away. I couldn’t believe I did that. My hair looked awful. Huy fixed me as always, I walked out with a huge smile. He takes his time to try to get the color you are looking for, but is also up front saying that we might not get the right color until next time. He cares for your hair’s health and would never do something that doesn’t make sense. I am always so relaxed at Huy’s salon!
