I really can’t recommend coming here. I was so excited to go to a curly salon and have my hair cut by people who specialize in curly hair. Supporting local businesses is really important to me too. I asked for a fohawk shape, something more punky. I told the junior and master stylist about my concerns with my bangs (I like them to come down to my eyebrows) and the cowlicks I have on my hairline. I also let them know how I like to style it. The master stylist came over and just started chopping my hair. It felt like she grabbed big fistfuls of it and was chopping away with no care in the world. I had to correct the cut multiple times because one side was longer than the other. I guess they got tired of me trying to fix it cause they put a bunch of product in my hair instead of fixing it and styled my hair in a way that made me feel uncomfortable. You know, you get used to a style and you like your hair instead a certain way.. well they didn’t listen to me and styled it how they wanted and told me that people would give me compliments. I felt pressured into something I really didn’t want and I let them know that. The first thing my friends said to me was how choppy and uneven it looked. They were upset for me. And when I spoke to my mother over FaceTime, she was upset that my curls were ruined. I felt so embarrassed I couldn’t even leave my house. It took me three washes to get the product out of my hair and even now, it feels dry and dead. I don’t even have presentable bangs anymore. I contacted them again since they said they would fix it for free, but because I was too upset, they rejected me and told me to find somewhere else to fix it. At least I got a refund, but my hair is so short and lopsided that I can’t even get the cut I wanted somewhere else. I’ll never come here again - it’s not worth the price.

I liked this place, usual salons make my hair look dry or frizzy at the end just to charge me $500. This place felt homey and made my hair look really cute for half the price. Also, I love their salon dog cardi b 🙂

Let me start by saying my actual experience in the salon was pleasant. The hairdressers were very kind, and the environment was very welcoming at first. The services here are not cheap, and I drove well out of my way to come to this salon as no one in my hometown knows how to style my hair texture. I arrived for my 1:30 appointment on time, but didn’t start my appointment till about 15 minutes later. I got a steam treatment and a detox mask, which was very relaxing, and my hair is very soft. The haircut, however- I am not so happy with. I wanted to go a bit shorter, and add some bangs to my cut. She finished the cut and it still wasn’t short enough, so I asked for a bit more off before moving on. She cut some length in the very back, and then didn’t really touch up the sides or front end. They then moved onto styling without cutting the bangs at all- I asked if we were done with the cut, she said yes. And I reminded her I wanted some bangs. I booked with the junior stylist, so she had the other stylist come over and do my bangs. I had photos ready to show her an idea of what I wanted- she didn’t ask questions or look at my reference photo- she just cut and moved on. Several other people had come in and it was past the end of my appointment at this point, and I felt like they were kinda rushing me out. The styling was really bad. I wish there was a more kind way to say it- but my curls looked horrible. I didn’t take any photos because I was really upset when I left. I felt really foolish walking out. It was like I had some sort of 80s combed out curls situation going on. half of my hair was straight and I went home without a single ringlet on my head. I come home and straighten it to make sure we’re all lined up, and there’s a whole chunk missing from the front end. The bangs are SUPER thick, and the back is uneven as well. I just feel like for the price point, I should notttt be experiencing these results. At all. (A photo of my curls, for reference)

The salon is really nice the art work and plants are pleasant to look at. It was my first time there and I’m always nervous with having people cut my hair especially since I have really curly hair and have had bad experiences. I got the steam treatment and a cut. While getting the treatment and my hair washed they gave me a headed weighted blanket which was very relaxing first time I’ve experienced that and it was really nice. My cut looks great my hair is super bouncy and healthy. I appreciate that there wasn’t a lot of products used in my hair and I wanted my hair to be healthy but didn’t want a huge chop. I didn’t have a voice today and my stylist didn’t try to talk very much to me and I’m assuming it’s because I sound like dark Vader so I wasn’t bothered by that. I’d go again I believe it was worth the price.

While the staff in the salon were very friendly, I’m so upset about my hair cut. I actually cried for a while and had to remind myself that it’s just hair, it’ll grow back. The smile on my pictures shared here came after giving myself this reminder. I went in for a trim, and we’d agreed that I would keep my shape but she would clean it up a bit. As you can see in my before and after picture, (the before was taken literally the day before) my hair went from a beautiful, full, curly fro to a short curly pixie cut. This is not at all what I wanted. There are also several areas of very long hair and very, very short hair all over my entire head. The goal of my visit was to make sure I can continue doing my regular wash and go style with low maintenance by removing split ends and shaping my curly fro a bit. It took a few days for me to figure out how to style my hair by hiding the long and short pieces. This has been one of the worst experiences I’ve had with my hair. I’ll be seeing a stylist in the following days at a different salon to get the now sloppy pixie cut corrected. If you have type 4 hair, I would suggest seeking a stylist who is experienced and a true expert in cutting black hair rather than coming here just because they say they specialize in curly hair, which is the mistake I made.

My fiance got his haircut here and they were very kind, patient and knowledgeable about curly hair. We were clueless on how to care for his hair. They took their time to explain the best products to use and how to use them. We will definitely be coming back here for all his future hair care. Plus this place is a vibe and very cute and cozy 💜💜💜

I drove all the way from Auburn to get this curly cut. I walked out with my hair half dry and it looked okay. It was much shorter than I expected it to be but no worries because it look healthier. It was not till an hour later when my hair was fully dry that I noticed how choppy my hair cut was. The hair stylist who was the owner and specialist layered my hair wet which was strange for curly cut. Anyways I trusted the process and to my horror at how uneven the cut was. Super short on top and longer on the bottom. No layering in between.. It’s absolutely the worst! I wish I have read the reviews before I booked the appointment. This is not a curly cut salon. Do not bring your curls anywhere near this place.
