This place is great for a cheap coloring. It’s not a regular salon for getting a cut or high end styling, but the girls still did their magic. I have a dark bear black root and was looking to get a balayage. I showed them this picture and came out with these result for under 250.

I’ve been a Madison Reed member since 2022, paying around $80 per month plus generous tips, expecting consistent and professional color services. However, my last visit was extremely disappointing. Just two days after my root touch-up, I noticed that the grays on the sides of my hair were still visible (photos attached). Since this location (Sugar Land) is a franchise, there is no way to request a specific colorist or reach a manager for quality control—it's purely luck whether you get someone skilled or not. For a salon that specializes in hair color, this lack of consistency and accountability is unacceptable. If I’m paying for a membership, I should at least receive properly covered roots. I hope they improve their training and quality control because this experience makes me question if continuing my membership is worth it. Update: After my initial experience, I returned to the salon and was taken care of by the manager, Rya, who was incredibly kind and professional. She, along with Maria, made sure my hair was corrected perfectly and sincerely apologized for the issue. I also received a response from the owner acknowledging my concerns. I really appreciate their effort to make things right.

Wonderful experience! Love my blow out. Easy to book on line, you arrive at the salon and with-in minutes they start to work on your hair. I got the all over color. One person applies the color, while another wash out your hair. It's great they have a DIY blow-dry bar option for a quick exit or the full pampered experience when you want to treat yourself.

If I could give zero stars I would. I’ve never had such an awful experience getting my hair colored! I came into the Sugar Land location to have my roots colored black. When it was done, and my hair was washed I was left with black ring of stain from the hair color around my entire face - literally from ear to ear! I should have taken a photo of it but I wasn’t thinking about it at the time unfortunately. My colorist had already left by then and when I asked another worker (who wasn’t with a client) what to do to take the dye off my face she just pointed at the solution and didn’t bother to offer to help remove the black stain. So I sat there for 15 minutes scrubbing it off myself. This stuff does not come off skin easily so my skin turned red from all the scrubbing and it didn’t even 100% come off! As if that wasn’t bad enough - when I went home and washed my hair the next day, the water ran BLACK because my hair wasn’t washed thoroughly enough! I’m sure that was damaging to my hair since that means that the color sat in my hair for over 24 hours! I’ve had my roots and hair colored for years and I’ve NEVER had these things happen. So not only did the colorist (who said she’s been doing this for years) leave a black stain around my face that I had to scrub off myself, but the woman who washed my hair didn’t do a thorough job and therefore left color sitting in my hair for over 24 hours + the other employee didn’t even offer to help me when she saw me scrubbing the black ring around my face which was a result of their services. Unbelievable! I just don’t understand how these things can happen at a salon that SPECIALIZES in hair color because these are such basic things!. #1. Don’t get the dye on the customers face and #2 wash out the color THOROUGHLY! It’s hair color 101! Save your money. Do. Not. Come. Here! I would have been much better off doing my roots myself from a $15 box of color from Target. Total waste of $100! I read the responses to the other negative reviews that were left and they all said that they would have someone contact them to make it right. I do not want to be contacted because what’s done is done. You can’t undo such a bad experience. If you really want to make it right you should refund my money. Contact me if you want to do that.

Got all over color. I was able to consult with my colorist and she mixed 2 colors and I absolutely love it! Reasonably priced, super friendly, excellent location. May pay for a blow dry next time, though you can do it yourself and everything is clean.

I paid over a $100 for full hair color and still see a lot of grey hair. I am very disappointed actually.

This was my first visit to Madison Reed and I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I can say that I’m happy to be a member and will definitely be back. The color bar is more fun than a salon. It felt like being at a friend’s house with the color team circulating around us effortlessly with friendly smiles and laughs. My favorite part was experimenting with the products at the end while blowing dry my hair.
