Gio & Gio New concept salon Pacific Beach

OK, so where to start with this review I used to go to Gio and Gio back in Downtown about 8 years ago. It was a phenomenal salon/barbershop and I remember when I moved to San Francisco and I told myself that if I ever come back to San Diego this would be the spot. I moved back to Pacific Beach and to my pleasant surprise, a Gio and Gio in Pacific Beach. I called and spoke to Gio and as I walk in, I remember him and he rememebred me. The facility and the actual shop itself is beautiful, clean, and open. The music is awesome and it’s a total vibe. Not only arethe employees very professional, they are customer focused and just all around good people. I did end up getting my haircut by Angelina and let me tell you…she knows how to do good work. I repeat she does how to do really good work 🔥🔥 So all in all, Gio and Gio will have a customer for life. 👌🏽

I went in for ash highlights and left with yellow and brassy hair. Its very blotchy in the front of my face line. It looks terrible. She didn't use ash blond either. I sat there for 6 hours and I hate my hair. It looks almost platinum . My neck hurts from them tugging on my hair trying to brush it out from being ratted. I have never had this done in all my years of getting highlights. I have a bruise on my neck from sitting in the wash bowl three times. I had to go back the next day cause she said she could fix it. So i sat for another 2 hours and it looks worse. It looks nothing like the beautiful ash blond photo i showed them. Now I have to pay someone else to fix it and it's going to cost another $300! I'm so beyond disappointed.

Very disappointed with my haircut. All I asked was that it be shoulder length. What I got was three inches shorter than that. She turned my chair so I couldn’t see what she was doing in the mirror. I should have objected. Then she pouffed my hair so it stuck out sideways. "I gave you more body", she said. But I didn’t ask for that or want it. Your stylists need to be trained to listen to their clients’ instructions. I only give two stars because she was friendly, but that’s not what I came for.

I have been coming to Gio&Gio for a year and a half and have been getting my hair done by Angelica every time. She CONSISTENTLY does a FANTASTIC job, is so fun to be around and chat with, and leaves my hair (and me!) looking and feeling amazing. She is super easy to book with, responds quickly, and is flexible with her schedule. Every interaction I have at this salon is 10/10. The staff is super accommodating and welcoming. Love it and highly recommend.

I am so happy I found this salon! Leslie is absolutely amazing! Thank you so much for everything, this is the best hair cut I've ever gotten. I asked for layers and a trim, she also recommended a hair treatment because my hair was super dry, so I got that and it worked wonders!! Will definitely be coming back.

Owner/manager is stellar. Angelica provides fantastic haircuts. Really grateful for this place and will keep coming back

Heather and Nancy did a great job on making my daughter and I feel special and relaxed. I had a great wash and blowout and my daughter had the same but with a cute braid style. We're so glad for the great experience on a rainy, cold day on vacation.
